Anime The love of anime!

Ok i have one question.. why do people like anime! i love it and my parents keepm asking why people like it. that its "stupid" well i need to tell them an answer.. so what shall i say... can you give me an idea.. cus they wont listen to me ^^

 

My parents always ask me the same question XP But there is a thread very similer to this.

 

Why do they like books, or movies, or operas, or whatever? Because (generally) of good plots, awesome graphics or whatever. All animation is is another medium for things to be done in, and it can be just as serious, brutal or emotive as a live action movie.

In fact, let me talk to them. I think it'd at least be highly entertaining to make 'em squirm!

Well, it's the interest in japanese artwork a lot of it isn't it? It's just something different to your average live action film, as well as storylines, it's got the novelty factor as you can take an interest in the art. Speaking of which, can anyone tell me why anime companies insist on releasing Live action titles sometimes? For me, it kind of defeats the object of having anime, as live action films are certainly not animated.
