Anime The Matrix

I heard there's a Matrix anime in the works. I doubt it'll be as cool as the movie was, though. What do you think?

ah the Animatrix.. I keep hearing about it on ads for The Matrix Revisited OT: who on earth would pay $15 for a making of DVD?
I've no idea how it will be. The couple shots I've seen of it looked a little too.. busy

 

Yeah, I heard a rumour a while back about an anime and I was wondering if it were true or not...then I saw the Matrix Revisited DVD and it showed a pic from the upcoming anime

My question is :
Who does the animation/artwork for this anime?



My guess is Ogura Hiromasa, the art director for Ghost in the Shell... I know that the dudes who made matrix loved Ghost in the Shell. But I can't seem to find any of the production crew yet.

 

You can buy the new DVD coupled with the movie for a double-disc effect, if that explains why anyone would get it. That's my plan, at any rate.
I just wonder how all the special effects will be done ... I mean, half the coolness of the movie is that it's real actors doing what only animated characters can usually do. How can they convert that to anime? What do physical beings do that animated ones can't?

Ghost in the Shell.. would make sense. The Matrix sure lifted a bunch from it. Shattering concrete columns, chase thorugh a market and watermelons getting shot.. blah blah so yeah, that would be a good match

 

Ive heard a rumour that whats left of square pictures will be working on one of the animated movies.

~IDAVE~ Square Pictures studios is still there they just do cg for games now.

 

Hm...I can imagine it looking somewhat like Aeon Flux... only far more busy >
