Well the long awaited Radeon 9800PRO with DDR2 memory has finally come out...

but it's only 10Mhz faster than the DDR one, and the DDR2 memory latencies are higher... and runs a hell of a lot hotter

so from 9800pro to 9800pro with DDR2... you will notice AT MOST 2 fps of diference...

in other words... not worth the additional 100$

    see for yourself

If you do get a graphics card I'd recommend only Nvidia GeForce Series and ATi Radeon series. Currently the GeForce 5800 is pretty good but some reports suggest the earlier released Radeon 9800 is better. I would look out for the new ATi card coming out... I'll give you more info if I can find some.

the Radeon 9800 bets the FX 5800
nVIDIA is releasing a FX 5900 which is gonna try to compete with the 9800
i'm not sure on details but i'll hceck through my pc mags
