Japanese The name "Honda"

    Is this name given to individuals from both genders?
    - Honda Hiroto: Male Yu-gi-oh! character.
    - Honda Tohru: Female Fruit's basket character.

    Japanese names are usually in the form of Family Name, Familiar Name. So that's no different than an American girl having the last name Smith.

    Yes, like if you have ever noticed on Kenshin, when somone asks him his name he usually says: Kenshin...Himura Kenshin. The system of putting the family name first still exists in Japan, and the Japanese friends I had in England always wrote their names like that. It confused me at first as to what their 'first' name was.

    well, the family name or the surname always comes first...its considered more important than a personal name...peasents often werent even aloud to have a family name...

    yeah usually the family name was written first and the personal name after wards...i don't know how it is but in Vietnam they always call people by their last anme then thier middle then thier last...so most of my relatives call me Thuy Hang which is one of my vietnamese middle name adn my vietnamese name...
