This is the Nintendo.com page for The Legend of Zelda. The game is known only as LoZ at the moment and will be released in 2005 for the GameCube (yaay!).

May I direct your attention to the screencaps. May I please fangirl over them. Ee!! The forest pic!! EE! The TREES -- zey look so PRETTY! *death* And notice how they went back to more realistic graphics instead of continuing with the Wind Waker's cutsie, cel-shaded ones.

While you're at Nintendo's site, you may want to check the new GBA game, "The Legend of Zelda: The Minnish Cap". That one looks soo cute. XD

Yeah, even for Nintendo (yeah I hate Nintendo) it looks pretty cool. The trailer from E3 has a scene of link battling on his horse. New features?:)

    ...Yeah. I'm SO getting that.

This is what fans have wanted all along. I don't care how great Wind Waker is - the cel-shaded look is cute, but what drew me into the LoZ series was the epic beauty of LoZ:OoT. Hell, I'd have been happy with a GC remake of OoT, just for the potential to expand the story and have improved graphics. But if this is an entirely new story, well, so much the better.

Let's hope it incorporates the Gerudo. They kick butt, and can you imagine how neat a desert fortress, with soaring cliffs and blowing sands, populated by scimitar-wielding bada** women like them could look with the GC's visuals? @_@ Heheh.

I shall now sit in my corner and twitch until I can buy this game. XD

Didn't they already have a GC remake of OoT with Master Quest?

Meh.. I don't know, I'm still feeling iffy. After all, to me, it was the first 3D game that gave Zelda a bad name. And Majora's Mask and Windwaker only made it worse.

At least I still have the classic Zelda and A Link To The Past. I doubt anything could ever top those.

At least it seems to have gotten a more mature look from the N64 games and Windwaker (which was never a problem, mind you, for the NES, SNES, and Gameboy games >: ). That could be a plus... I hope... cause it would really suck to have to start hating Legend of Zelda. ;P But... then again, as I said... always the original NES game.

    Correct
Wind waker is better then A link to the past and the new zelda will rule all the other zelda's games. :D

I personally wish that Nintendo DIDNT come out with Windwaker. Or just made it more..all around. My brother and I weren't going to get it untill we played it in the store. We dont get the "cutesy" crap. It always turns out to be a waste of our precious money that we COULD be spending on Motocross equipment. But since they did, the new Zelda better make up for that xD

Meh. I still believe, without a doubt, the original Zelda is, was, and always will be the best. I mean, it's the ORIGINAL. Without it there WOULD be NO Zelda. :p No Link, no Ganandorf and none of the crap N64 games they came out with and that crap Windwaker game (which, although would have been MUCH better, we would have also been deprived of the great game, A Link To The Past and even the good Gameboy games).

They need to make more Zelda games more true to the original.. go back to the roots, man, not this 3D crap, it's not suitable for Legend Of Zelda.

Nah, I'm pretty sure Link to the Past is the best as far as the series are concerned. The movement into the 3D-ness of the games sorta made it lose its touch, but Link to the Past took the first two Zeldas and made it better, while the 3D ones may as well be irrelevant to the older ones.

I always liked the Gerudo. XD I'd definitely love to see them in this game. Ooh, and the Zora -- maybe they won't look... as weird as that Princess Ruto did.

Of all that's been said... I think it's rather irrelevant which Zelda game is the "best". It will vary from person to person because it's more opinion than anything else. For example, I used to keep hearing that Majora's Mask was a horrible game, but when I played it I just fell in love. I could care less for graphics as long as there's a fun story. (Though the graphics certainly do help.)

As for The Wind Waker, I read in an interview that the graphics were just something new. (Kind of like a "why not?") And whether or not people liked the graphics, the game was well-received. (And, dangit, it was what one could call the "conclusion" to the story begun in OoT that carried through to MM -- we see the end result of Link's departure from Hyrule at the beginning of MM.)

Frankly, I don't care which Zelda game is "the best". I'm just in it for the fun and general pretty-ness. And that's what I'm expecting from the new game. Which was why I posted this thread. Which is why I feel like I'm sounding winded... You know what? I'm going to go get a drink of water...

...oooh, the thought of the underwater worlds that could be depicted in this new game... *death*

The N64 games were a bunch of fun, but yes. The original Zelda would have to be the best. I prefer the Super's game to the GC's game. By watching the trailer, the new Zelda looks like CRAP. Yes, yes. I know I am probably going to get yelled at and all that stuff, but its my opinion. :sweat2:

That's essentially how I feel. I mean, Wind Waker did give me a bit of a shock when I saw the character designs - but I got over it. And, comparatively, I was a bit disappointed with Majora's Mask because it felt very rushed and, well... not-epic. But that aside, the graphics were a bit more lively and it did have some very entertaining elements.

    *mental orgasm* @_@

Yeah, can you imagine what could be done with the swimming concept introduced in MM? All in all, the potential here is really incredible. I would love to see old areas from previous games revisited - what can I say, I'm nostalgic. (And I can't help but wonder if there'll be anything psychadelic like the last boss arena from MM - man, the swirly rainbow goodness was freaky at four in the morning... XD)

It's gonna suck so much if we get disappointed and the game doesn't include any of that. XD

    I'm getting the game, period.
And OoT: Master Quest... It's so freaking hard compared to the original!
    @_@
    ...
Myessshhh I'd like zhe Gerudo's back as well. Hell, I finally understand why they locked up those carpenters in OoT... they NEED A MAN!! No wonder the Gerudo's made Link a special member after he freed the carpenters...
    :sweat2:

Now if adult Link could turn into Oni Link in this new zelda game... *drools*
And hopefully they'll bring back the Zora's, Kokiri's and Goron's as well. The bird and log creatures in WW just weren't that appealing to me...
    :(

If this wasn't said before, some actually say this new Zelda game is actually a remake of the very first one. Thus why it is just called The Legend of Zelda(unless they didn't come up with a second title yet).

But by watching the video that Stardust Phox provided, they have the enemies from what it looks like, windwaker. So it cant be a remake. They would have to keep the old enemies which I wish they would. :dizzy:
The makers must be having some real issues thinking of games.
