I've seen that ad myself, but it was a photo not a screenshot.
At the moment i'm thinking that i won't buy the game cause i've got enough to do at the moment, but when i see it in the shops then i probably won't be able to resist the urge to buy it :sweat2: . Although i won't be rushing out to buy it the day that its realeased thats for sure.

Ergh. The sims have already destroyed so many peoples lives. But what the heck, Sims 2 might be good for the long lasting fans, but one thing is for sure, these types of games are just...too repetive.

I am not getting this, but maybe for my sister who is a sims-maniac.

I've been extremely excited since i got the preveiw disk with Making Magic. More ways to torment and kill you Sims! XD The graphics seem to have gotten much better as well. And your sims actually grow! Who knew they grew?

Though sadly . . .the sims tends to bore me after a month of non-stop playing. I ussually play the new games/ expansions for a month, then never touch them for years untill the next expansion. ><;; But they are fun while they last.

chris is conquering clothing while i conquer the genetic aspects with body shop. so far, we have loads of eye, lip, blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow(under work due to playing with the alpha channel and trying to get a goth style to show up), eyebrows, and a couple color-changed tops.

and the cheats will still be around. of course, due to it being a newer version, the cheats changed. so, rosebud isn't our money making friend anymore. but it'll be there in spirit. i also hear there's supposed to be one to stop the ageing process.

(like living large was to the original sims. it did change the actual game itself, so the cheats changed. the rest of the expansions changed the game, but not it's dynamics as much as living large did. and well, they also have the patches up online, so they don't need to make you to buy the fix anymore ^^ this makes sense, trust me)

This might be a little off topic for this particular thread but can somebody tell me how to put downloaded skins into the game? Everytime i oput them in the game skin file, the skin appears invisable in the game. It's like playing the game with Ray-Man.

well, you find the .zip to download. then, extract it into the skins directory. maxis>sims>gameplay>userdata>skins should be the path you wanna go through. you may wanna try it manually first and make sure you can find the gamedata dir and the skins dir in it. everything goes in the skins if it's a skin. the.bmp, .cmx files. everything from the zip. only things you can kill are the readmes.

then, go to the sims website and get filecop. it'll check to see if the file is corrupt or if it wasn't the proper resolution.

I was going to pick this up, but it requires 3.5 free gigs. Maybe someday, but not right now... though I am sorely tempted, especially after Something Awful's review.

3.5 gb? I am not that surprised really considering the size and length of that game, but hey, look at MGS2 for the PC...4.6 GB and on dvd-roms...even though the game is "not that" huge as Sims 2.

But really - The game is a decent follow up but I am not that sure if I am gonna really play it that much.

Sure, the first one was groundbreaking, but meh...these types of games are just...

Well, I am getting it today, only because my sis is nagging me to get it :p

Just as i suspected that i would i went out and got the game the day it was released (it had been a bad week, and buying games cheers me up :D). At first i thought that it wouldn'd work on my computer, and low and behold it didn't.... the first time, i had to reinstall it and then for some strange rason it worked, and it's been running pretty smoothly (to my surprise) ever since.
I actually quite like the game. It's got some of that old Sims feeling but theres something new there that makes it better. And the new 3D element and the way the faces are animated are really good. I also like the endless possablities for making faces.

Strangely, even with all the fires that have been started by my sims, none of them have been killed. Thought it was funny that your teen sims can even get spots :D, and then you can see them on their faces when you bring up a menu for to get them to do something.
