    Anyway, I figured I would transcend anime, movies, literature, comic books and video games and ask the following question:

    Who is your favourite vampire hunter-type character, and why?

    Since Alacard is a Vampire i wouldn't say him. Then I would say Walter from Hellsing in the one episode you see him fight he kills. Who knows what he was like when he was young.

    at them moment i cant think off to many besides Vampire hunter D So maybe it be good to refresh our memories with some more famous Hunters..

    To start with, the aformentioned D from Vampire Hunter D
    Saya from Blood: The Last Vampire
    Anyone of the Belmont clan from the Castlevania series

    Uh ... off the top of my head, I'm running dry at the moment.

    Well.. thats not much help tbh.

    But I do realy injoy Vampire Hunter D's character and would love to read all the novels.. Just the fact that they are not translated is what stops me.

    But even though D is a silent and Mysterious type of character, there is a world of depth that im sure everyone wants to know. But so far we have only been giving tidbits.

    Hmm, I don't think I saw many Vampire things yet ^^;

    Who else hunts vampires? Does Miss. Hellsing counts as one?

    I disagree. Novus states that the hunter does not necessarily have to come from anime.

    Blade you can not beat him. I love his sword sooooooooo much. But he killed dear beloved Frost so that's a bummer.:sad: But still he is so cool. Of course I have yet to get a copy of Vampire Hunter D from my video store that's located in a mostly catholic area with people who hate anime so I can't really tell.

    My, aren't those facts ... unrelated!
    Anyway, I'm glad to see this thread back where it belongs.

    My vote (since I have a tendency to start threads without saying much, it seems) goes to Simon Belmont from Castlevania. More specifically, from Castlevania 2. He's turning into a vampire because of Dracula's curse, and he split the villain into several pieces in the game before. Something about having to put someone's body back together just so you can kill him is fun.
