Yes. The true face of evil. What I feel to be the greatest source of legalized malice, hatred, and mental programming since the Nazi party in the 1930’s.

I present it to you in Living Color.

No, it’s not those two specifically, rather it’s the organization they work for. The group of social distorters who tell us how we should function and feel as human beings, while showing complete disregard for mankind in of itself.

Yes, I’m talking about the News.

Our friend, and only reliable source for truth in today’s warped society, right? They’ve always been there to guide us and tell us how to think, always showing us the sad state the world is in, always showing us what could never otherwise be shown on national television. They have our pulse and we love them for it, right?

    How about F*CK no!

This is one of those writings I post where I mean every word I transcribe. I’m absolutely livid about the Press here in the United States. I can’t speak for those who live elsewhere, I simply hope you find this informative.

Normally in a debate you want to take a neutral, non-emotive stance, analyzing both sides of the story to build and compose your argument. However this time I’m unloading with all the malice and venom I can muster. My emotions are the source of this debate, they are the fuel, and I’m not going to hold back.

The mass media, the press in specific, are out of hand. I challenge anyone to disagree with me. Prove me wrong, I dare you. This is the debate. Convince me that the press isn’t the largest collection of filth and scum this side of Congress. Hiding under the safety blanket of the First Amendment they lash out without fear of reprisal, posting whatever they feel will garner viewers, REGARDLESS OF WHO THEY WILL HURT, OR WHAT DAMAGE THAT INFORMATION MAY CAUSE!

    evil
Pronunciation: 'E-v&l, British often and US also 'E-(")vil
    Function: adjective

Webster has five definitions of Evil- Morally Reprehensible, causing discomfort or repulsion, arising from actual or imputed bad character or conduct, and causing harm, and marked by Misfortune.

I will prove that the Press fall under all five categories, making them the Face of Evil.

For those of you who live outside the United States allow me to present a little background information before I unload. The Press here in the US is protected under the United States Constitution (the official set of “rules” the US Government must follow) under something called the First Amendment. This Amendment states that Congress shall make no Law favoring one religion over another, nor prohibit from exercising any religion they wish (Freedom of Religion), prohibit people from peaceably assembling (freedom of Assembly), prohibit people from petitioning the Government for change(freedom to petition), abridging the freedom of Speech, OR OF THE PRESS.

What that means is that Congress cannot tell the press what they CAN or CANNOT print in the papers or on the news. This is an amendment that has its heart in the right place and is a necessity for a well functioning government, however it is this “Freedom of the Press” that is the root cause of this debate.

The press can literally say or print whatever they feel is news with complete disregard. They have taken advantage of that Amendment and use it as a shield to report garbage and spin- not the honest to God truth about the world around us. Only recently have there been any consequences for their actions, several series of misfortunes if you will (you can ask Dan Rather about that).

    Part II

Ok, time to get this started.

The Press we Americans watch today are the true faces of evil. They are an organization of Elitists who do what they will because they can, not because it is right. They are as foul and malevolent as they very scum they broadcast about. The worst part about it is that ignorant Americans (everyone- from the 60 yo woman who sits in her trailer in a nightgown 24/7, to the wealthy, yuppie individuals in their high rise apartments, to the middle man who has a family and works from 9-5) buy into their load of Bullsh*t every night.

Every night they tell us how to feel and what to think about and most people BLINDLY follow along.

I’ll use tonight’s news broadcast as an example, since it is the broadcast that re-ignited my violent hatred towards that filth, and reminded me to take everything I see and hear with a grain of salt.

    Sago Mine.

There aren’t very many people who haven’t heard about this tragedy. There was an explosion in a mine that killed 12 men. There’s a huge controversy about this being that there were numerous “safety violations” present in the mine and that there were false reports that a few men had actually survived. Thanks to the God Dammed Press this entire affair has been turned into a circus, pissing all over the tragedy, pointing fingers, and passing the blame.

Where to start? Hmm, let’s try the media’s invasive stance on how the entire ordeal was presented to the public. Of course they had your random stooge on scene with a cameraman and a mike, and like always, he was pouting about “What a terrible tragedy it was, look at all the people gathered, there was an explosion, I feel bad, so you should too. Doesn’t it tear at the heart to see all those spouses grieving over their loss? Let’s go ahead and zoom in on their faces, look at them crying. It’s so sad. Oh the humanity! Let’s go ahead and replay that scene about fifty or sixty times so that way everyone can see those grieving people.”

The man on the scene could give TWO SH*TS about the dead. Why do you think they dive into the faces of those women and children, shove a mike into their grill and ask them “How they feel? How are they going to cope with it all?” These people JUST learned that their husbands/fathers are never coming home again. They’re still trying to overcome the shock! Imagine that your best friend’s father was killed at his work, and you’re there as he/she receives the news. You turn to him/her and the first words out of your mouth are “How do you feel about this? What are your thoughts on your father’s death?”

If your friend doesn’t knock you the f*ck out it’s because they’re still too overcome with shock and grief to properly function. That’s a terrible thing to do to someone.

SO WHY IS IT ACCEPTABLE FOR THE PRESS TO DO IT?!

If that man on the scene really cared then he wouldn’t use THE GRIEVING FAMILY MEMBERS TO SELL A F*CKING NEWS STORY!! Here’s something that you’ll never hear: “Turn the Camera off, Bob. Let them be, they’ve gone through enough.” You know why? Because these Newcaster Assholes are Morally Reprehensible. They don’t give a DAMN about what they’re doing. They checked their morals at the door when they went to work in the morning.

The only time I’ve ever been more inflamed about the bad character and conduct of the media was during the Columbine Shootings a few years back. Nearly all Americans remember that lovely chapter of our history. We’ve all seen the images on TV. I watched in absolute shock as a young girl, a God Dammed Child, was sobbing in her mother’s arms. She’d made it out alive by nothing less than luck, and this was the first time she’d been able to fall into her Mother’s embrace since she left for school that morning. She’d seen her best friend’s head blown off by one of the shooters, executed. She had witnessed something that will change her life forever. She will never again be the same girl who left home that morning.

This was not something I should have been watching. Why? Because that moment was between her and her mother. That was THEIR Moment, not mine. We had no right to see those tears or hear those words they exchanged. We had NO right to be there.

But sure as all hell, the News was there anyway, recording every second of it, shoving that f*cking camera into her tear streaked face like she was some movie star, and the Callous B*tch of a reporter took that mike, rammed it into the face of the child and had the nerve, the AUDACITY, to ask her “What happened? Can you tell us what happened? Why are you alive?”

“WHY ARE YOU ALIVE!?” Was she F*CKING kidding?!

This GARBAGE goes on all the time!! I was sick after I saw that. To say that they caused discomfort or repulsion would be to say that the Bubonic Plague was only a minor infection. I was ill with regret, and maddeningly angry towards the woman who tried to interview her.

They sold that girl, as surely as anyone sells any product. They captured her, packaged her, and sold her to the public and we ate it up. We ate it all up and asked for more. You know what happened after Columbine? Several series of “Me too” crimes where a kid would come to school and unload on his classmates.

Hey. If Columbine could garner that much press, why not do the same thing yourself and get back at all those assholes who made fun of you at the same time!

And, each and every time, the press was there in the aftermath, showing us shots of bullet holes and body bags, while displaying the images of those who were grief-stricken like they were nothing more than trophies. Kids would see this, realize they could make a name for themselves, and the whole thing repeated itself.

The greed of the press to cover their stories and glean viewers overcame their sense of humanity. The real cause behind all those “Me Too” crimes, the real cause behind all that pain and harm, weren’t the troubled kids, it was the press glorifying the tragedy, painting the picture that would influence countless children to commit crimes against their peers. Did the Press care? F*ck no. Each time a child shot another in school they ate that sh*t up like it was Prime Rib and came back asking for seconds. We, in turn, bought into all that crap watching it because we’re ignorant and stupid, because other’s misfortune is interesting.

Hate crimes are interesting. Terrorism is interesting. Violence is interesting. The blackest, the darkest, the most evil mankind can possibly be is interesting. Not once did the Press stop to think about the damage they were causing to the individuals they were reporting about, or worse, to national security.

Saddam’s best source of information about troop movement and general US Strategy was CNN. The press hears about things before the troops ever do.

    Case in point?

When the USS Carl Vinson lost several Jets while we were in the Persian Gulf, no one on board knew about it until the next morning- when CNN ran a story about it. Imagine our surprise waking up and going into the lounge to see the USS Carl Vinson on TV, and a story running about two pilots that will never get home. CNN informed US, the sailors, about the tragedy that happened onboard OUR ship not even a few hours before. The crashes happened, word got around to the OTHERSIDE OF THE PLANET and was then processed, made into a report and then sent BACK to us informing Vinson’s very sailors what had happened.

Does anyone else see the problem with this?

    Part III

It’s not just the loss of aircraft that they leak. Every time a piece of sensitive information detailing troop positions, troop movements, covert assaults, and other classified materials gets into their hands, they PRINT this information with reckless abandon. Now the Seal team that was launching a surprise attack on a site get wiped out because the enemy knew they were coming. Now the enemy knows about our future plans and future movement of our troops, so they can adequately prepare their forces. Now the enemy knows about our black projects and research that might have saved lives if it hadn’t been released by the press. If that's not misfortune (as a direct result of the Press' meddling) then I don't know what is.

Do they care? About as much as they cared about the families of the victims in the Columbine incident.

And we eat this sh*t up. Why? Because we’re told to.

How can anyone defend the Press, how can anyone STAND the Press? They put so much spin and Bullsh*t on their stories they’re more like commentary than real news. Tonight they released “Chilling” tapes of 911 calls after the Sago Mine explosion. You know what those tapes were? A paramedic requesting extra assistance, some woman acknowledging the paramedic, and a woman requesting more ambulances and aircraft. Being perfectly honest, those tapes weren’t even as exciting as the above sentence sounds! What’s worse was that the media seemed to blame the “Mis-information” about the men surviving on these “false” reports.

There’s several facts about the Sago mine that we should remember.

#1- These “Chilling” tapes were of 911 calls that happened only minutes after the explosion. The paramedics had no idea if there would be any survivors or not. They were calling in backup in case they needed it. They were trying to SAVE LIVES, God Dammit!! Why are we crucifying them for hoping that there would be people to save?! What kind of f*cked up spin is that?!

#2- The media was quick to point the finger away from the reporters themselves that started the rumors about the survivors. They were only reporting the news- Apparently rumors and speculation are considered viable sources of information for news. Bullsh*t!

#3- This one is my favorite. It has nothing to do with the “Chilling” (completely f*cking stupid drivel supplied by the Press to keep the public’s eye on the mine incident just a little bit longer) 911 tapes. Apparently there was a slew of Safety Violations in the mine. Yeah, I guess there was a metric ass-ton of infractions prior to the explosion. Why was that mine even open in the first place?!

I would love to see them release that list of “safety infractions” for the public’s scrutiny. If it’s anything like where I work, I will bet money that 99% of the infractions were cheesedick, bullsh*t infractions about stupid, trivial, asinine things.

“Where you work?” you might say. “Where do you work that makes you so self important enough to claim that the safety hazards/infractions of a coal Mine are comparable to your jobsite?”

Well, I work in a nuclear power plant for starters. I deal directly with Nuclear reactors. The politics between Nuclear safety are associated with engineering safety and standards with a supplement to deal with the hazards of radiation and radioactive contamination. Our “safety hits” include such retarded hits like a handwheel nut being loose, a label plate missing a screw, a deckplate missing a screw, a rail that’s a little wobbly, a fire extinguisher 5 feet from it’s marked location, flaking paint, wet floors, and a million other asinine hits.

But wait, if there are all those safety hazards then why is your plant even operating?!

In the event of a meltdown I’m sure the news is going to say the exact same thing. There was a dramatic list of “safety violations” that were never dealt with, nor addressed.

Like a Mine, it’s an engineering environment. New things come up everyday. New safety hits are reported as often as we’re fixing them. It’s just the way that kind of environment is. The same thing can be said for the mine and its workers.

A woman was on the news today. Her husband was in a coma since the explosion and it appeared that he would regain consciousness soon. Of course there was the media “What’s the first thing you’re going to say to him when he wakes up?”

WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK SHE’S GOING TO SAY TO HIM?! What f*cking business is it of yours to pry into something personal like that?

But she wasn’t too bothered by the question, and it was giving the woman hope to talk about her husband’s recovery, so I’ll let that one slide.

However it does bring up my final point- Where’s all the good news? Where’s the stories about the best of mankind? About the blossoming of the human spirit, not the degradation? I’m not talking about those stupid, patronizing, 5 minute human interest bits you hear at the very end of the action news. Where’s the stories about mankind pulling together for one another? Why can’t there be a front page story about the man who grew genetically altered food that grows thicker and more plentiful than regular food- Feeding Billions, rather than an article condemning “Frankenstein Foods” because of its genetic manipulations. Why couldn’t I hear about the wisdom, teachings, and actions Mother Teresa (The single, greatest example we’ll ever see of the beauty mankind is capable of), instead of hearing about Jesse Jackson hopping on another bandwagon preaching his segregation and hate under the guise of Black Rights? Why wasn’t the Pope on the front page when he was preaching about peace and love, rather than on his death bed? Can someone tell me why we didn’t hear about the good all the different organizations did for the 911 victims, instead of the faux organizations that used people’s pity to swindle them out of their money? Why can’t we hear about how more and more Americans are utilizing the full power of pro-choice, and CHOSING life rather than abortion, instead of the rising number of teenage pregnancies and how abortion clinics appear to be more and more frequented? Where are the stories about the flourishing human spirit, and mankind coming together in peace rather than violence?

Even if they were all lies, even if the stories about peace and hope were nothing more than carefully woven tales, would they really be any worse than the bullsh*t we read about now-a-days? If they’re going to lie to us, shouldn’t they at least lie to us with a vision of hope and charity, rather than doom and destruction? At least then, mankind would be more likely to swing towards that direction. If they see that humanity is flourishing, they would be more inclined to change things for the better themselves. Perhaps we could change the course we’re heading on, maybe make this world just a little bit better.

After all, it’s all about how you put spin on the story, right?

Okay, a few things. Everything that you've said on these last 3 posts are without a doubt, the truth, and I agree on every damn bit of it. Humanity has lost a lot of values over the years. It pains me to say that so much because I believe in every part of my living body that humanity can change and be put back on the right track. So what I'm about to say goes against everything I believe in, but I cannot shade my eyes from the truth, no matter how vague it may be. This post will contain my version of the truth. My next will be of my beliefs.

Since the dawn of time, when humans first appeared, they were born good. It was their surroundings and teachings that changed them to be of evil heart. This is the way it has been through out the ages up til' the time we are in now. Reporters are more than likely taught to "spice" up the news so their station will get the higher ratings which will bring them more money. It's money that makes the world go round. Nothing happens without someone dropping in a few greens.

Also, people are inclined to "point the finger" at other people to keep themselves from getting in trouble. People are so concerned about themselves that they forget that there are other people in this world that have needs as well. They put themselves first and totally forget about everyone else. They are the center of their world.

People also realize the power of knowledge. They know the wealthier they are in knowledge aspects, the wealthier they'll be in money aspects. People take pride in what they know. Unfortunately, they tend to use this wealth of knowledge for evil deeds or for personal gain and not the gain of humanity.

This is the end of my view on the term "truth" and what it means to me. I do hope noone jumps donw my throat for this. I am simply expressing my views.

God I couldn't agree more. The Press is, in my honest opinion, evil. They just don't care. All they care about is making money and making sure that their news station stays on top of the charts. They don't care about how hurt people are, they just want to go home witha nice fat wad of cash in their pockets and a nicew hot dinner on their fancy dinner tables, watching recorded tapes of themselves on the news just so they can see how good they look.

Truly, the news needs more positive things. We don't care about the water skiing squirrel. We don't care which pig won the race today. We don't care if their's a "hot new toy" out. We want good news. But what do we get? Murder, rape, suicide, soldiers dead, shootings, disease, gas prices inflate, etc. etc. etc. Why can;t the world find something "decent" to talk about?!

People need to be informed, that's just a necessity to our weak nature. Without information, we wander aimlessly in the dark, not knowing what's going on in Iraq, or who's died, or what plane hit what building. I would rather be in the dark and not face any bad news than to be subjected to this garbage all day. It's sick to turn on the news and hear about a 50 something year old man raping a quadrapalegic 14 year old girl. It was even more sickening when I found out that her mother knew it was happening, and was being payed to keep quiet.

Our world is a terrible one. We have pollution, disease, war, death, famine, murder, rape, suicide, and, in my opinion being one of the most dangerous things in this world, religion. That was, according to our so called, "reliable news team", the cause of 911. Pff, yeah right, get a life. Those guys were forced to do it, and if they didn't, Osama would probably have them tortured and beheaded. Case in point? The press can say whatever they want, and we just believe it.

The press is indeed a powerful thing. Whatever they say, for the most part, we believe. We don't know what's happening in Iraq if we're not there. They say that the news reporters that are down there are truly brave men and women, striving to bring you the best coverage they possibly can. What, the h***, are you talking about!? Our soldiers are the ones being bombed and shot at and tortured and beheaded and risking their lives, not your press.

So, in conclusion, our media is evil. I think that our media is the war machine that drives humanity to the insane thing that it is becoming. The press, in short, are lying, no good, won't stay out of your buisness people who will do anything for money, even ruin a family's tender moment after a tragedy or interrupt a paramedic trying to save a life. Hey, anything for the money.

Don't get me started on Religion again.

To be perfectly honest, with this debate I am really no better than the press. I'm using fire and misfortune to spread a belief or an ideal. I sleep better at night thinking that I'm different than them because I'm trying to preach for people to think outside the box and question everything they see and read- INCLUDING MY OWN WRITING. I encourage people to go out and prove me dead wrong, because it makes you think outside the boundaries many organizations want you to think in, and it goes to show that not even I am infallible, just like the press, the president and whom ever else we chose to point the limelight at.

Still, it saddens me to think that it's going to be a long time, if ever, before change occurs. The cycle is vicious and it will take something of monumental proportions to break it. I don't see that happening soon.

Ok, I agree with you for the most part, aside the media being the face of evil. I think the media just does what brings in ratings and money. That doesn't make them the face of evil. The media started out as something good, and helpful, but it just turned towards profit. People have been desensitized for the past 100 years, and the media says what the majority wants to hear. We could watch the good of mankind, helping others. But you know most people will turn it off, they want to see violence and chaos... death and destruction and all that fun stuff. I am disgusted with the media. It makes me so sick to my stomach, and that is hard, but it is something we have to deal with. Anywhoo, like I said at the beginning of my post, the media isn't the face of evil. Do you know who the face of evil really is? Bush, and **** Cheney is the devil himself. But that's just my two cents.

"When religion was in charge they called it the dark ages."- I do not know who said this but it has sound. That's all I'm going to say about religion.

Now about the news. I only trust Communist or Socialist online newspapers. Why? Because they have the working class in mind. They want the working class to be heard. That is what I feel. The problem is that some are too extream. But you mostly tell when one is. The first amendment is mostly: You can say whatever you want. As long as I agree with you.

And the Americans on this forum should know this. If the person doesn't and they hold power over you they hold you back. In work or anywhere else.

On Vladimir Putin: I feel that he is not a good leader that is takeing the rights away from the working class. People who were once communist/socialist and that become capitalist in 1991 are now going back to communism/socialism because of him.
