We are 2 years away from it but it feels so close as teams battle it out in qualifiers. With spain beating belgium 2-0, USA beating El salvador 2-0, mexico destroying san vicente 8-0 there will be alot of suprises to come. Who do you think will make it and win the WC.

I personally, go for Mexico. I am very glad on the way they are playing. But then again it is the carribiean teams. Whooping dominica 10-0 than 8-0 then beating trinidad and tobago who knows how much. and then of course whopping san vicente 8-0. Scoring more than 30 goals in 4 games. But then again....it is the carribean teams.

Sweden won over Hungary 3-0 and currently in a second position of the table. I hope we do as great in Korea/Japan, where we qualified from the group of death (England, Argentina, Sweden, Nigeria).

Ireland are thankfully doing quite good, we managed toget a nilalldraw against France, so thats good. Although i hear that France weren't up to full strength last night. Thats fine by me by the way :D.
Even still it seemed to be a fairly good battle with both sides putting pressure on each other.

The England game looked very impressive. But Beckhams shot was the high point of the game...wonderful goal.

He did, but there are rumours claiming that he got the yellow card by purpose so he could rehablitate for his injury...

\o/ 2-0 to Ireland against the Fareo Islands \o/

Was a good match, but i don't think we did so good in the second half, we had a lot of good opertunities but we just didn't seem to get the result we wanted. Ah well, hopefully we can keep up this kinda play and get to Germany.

Actually, I am not sure about that incident myself. But I know that he got the yellow card on purpose so he could skip the match yesterday.

Yeah, what Teddz said basically sums it up. The FA has treated this incident with severity indicating that Beckham's controversial challenge on Welsh defender Ben Thatcher as unacceptable for someone of his calibre. Although Beckham has apologized to England head coach Ericksson, the FA is far from settling the matter without punishment... The worse scenario will be his captaincy stripped from him, so the rumours in the media as repeatedly indicated.

If he really does lose his spot as captain, Michael Owen, who scored the only goal against Azerbaijan in England's 1-0 victory yesterday is likely to succeed him.

I somehow prefer Sol Campbell as the captain though. He seems to have the right characteristics to succed as a Captain.
