I guess I said that wrong. We already adapt like that. Swimmers keep a little more fat in order to keep a little more bouyancy. Also, it helps in extreme cold *DUH*. Guess I'm saying, if we do adapt, it's gonna be those little things, y'know? :D

Besides, fur? Then what's the point of clothes? I like looking good some days, and bumming it others. If I had fur, if I looked good...then I'd look good most of the time (ech, morning fur!). But if I looked bad, then I'd just look like a wet rat...which I pull off rather well already! :D

It'd be great to have wings...or some way to glide. Freedom!

I watched a show one time about the cold. so this scientist from toronto was up in the North west Terretories of canada in whitehorse..(hope thats not the cap of the yukon.) anyway he and an iniut person stood out in the cold in t-shirts.. the guy from toronto stood there for 10 minutes before going in, the inuit guy stood there for about an hour and he still did not feel very cold.. (and no he was not a fat guy)...

anyway we are always adapting.. but if you take someone from 300 years ago they are a lot stronger then the ppl today. because well we have become lazy.. Not that we dont still have the ability to become strong.. but by being a lazy race now a days we are becoming weaker as ppl..

Yeah, to stay in shape these days we really gotta work at it.
It's a *****, but if you don't want heart desiese ya gotta.
Back in the day it was the active lifestyle that kept them fit. Only the rich could be lazy.
That wouldn't be so bad. Maybe after ww3 when we go back to the stone age would could do it though.
I'm gonna hold onto my CD player though.

I think humans are the disgusting leeches of earth, we're nothing but big huge stinking parasites. With all the over-population and wars we have, if we somehow still exist in the future, the only food source we might have is carrion, if god does exist, and if he is wise, he should start Armageddon and finish us all off.

Personally, although Catholic, I'd rather see Ragnarok. True, it'll probably be more painful for us...but I wanna at least go out with a bang...and the War to end ALL wars is bound to cause some ruckus!

Well, I guess I should say that despite the fast food, we are living longer than ever. Without it we'd live even longer than that.. It is not exactly good for you. My point was simply that even with it we live longer (though not as long as we could, I forgot to say) So yeah, fast food sucks. There are fat people here, but I don't think there are that many. I can't say Europe is much thinner (I have spent 5 years there, not entirely firing that outta nowhere)

As far as being comfortable with yourself, it is good to a degree. Not many people can look like movie stars so we should be able to accept it. But, being really large still isn't healthy.

Now, do people evolve? Try the folks who live in the himalayas, they are a lot better at living in the high altitudes. Is it just that they've been living in it their whole lives and are used to it? Prolly has a lot to do with it, but they also have larger hearts and lungs than the rest of us. So who knows? And who's to say growing a bigger brain isn't evolution/adapting?

Well, that's enough for me. I'm tired of defeatism and negativism for now. Though those bark beetles we brought to NA still piss me off

Oh, I didn't say that growing a bigger brain isn't evolving...I meant that's where all the real evolution will come in for us (i think). There'll always be little adaptations, like those Himalayans....but whatever major is going to come from our behavior or our mental capacity.

Evolution isn't simply physical adaptation, it's been proven to be behavioral and "mental" as well.

Izzy, I wasn't responding to you (not that I was ignoring you though hehe). In fact, by "So who knows? And who's to say growing a bigger brain isn't evolution/adapting?" I meant that in my opinion growing a bigger brain is evolving :D

Was responding to any who might think that it isn't..

i agree with you guys for the most part. we are leeches. we are unhealthy. and our evolution is stunted..
another big problem that is a large contributor to the above and i dont think anyone has noted yet. is our growing dependancy on techology.. most poeple have the illusion of technology rebuilting the earth after weve raped it clean.. or unclog of fatty bodys and turn them into the silicon poster child of beauty so they can destroy themselves again. and we can evolve too much more because if its too cold we turn up the heater, if its too cold we buy a cute new sweater, made by childern in places we choose not to think about.. and if we have a problem why think? our leaders or our computers will tell us whats good for us..
we do still evolve its natural and we cant help it.. which is obvious, because we've messed up just about everything else.. on of the only true constant evloving presence in our world today is the though that everything will be alright in the end and will work out to your liking..

    i hope that made sense..
i understand that things arent all bad.. i try and do my part.. i recycle as much as i possibly can.. for what its worth as well as eat very well. and even more than this i talk. i educate. i try to open peoples eyes to the obvious, as best i can..

But, if you're speaking, aren't you creating noise pollution, Rei????? ;) Anyhow, what we need to do is get the word out there, so it's good to talk, just so long as it's not about ....t--t-te-teletubbies! Ahhh!

We ought to do something, get a petition going or something.

I think a lot of the **** humanity has done is bad, and ignoring that would be just stupid, but people do do good things too. Just look at art, music, cinema, hell even anime. If you look around you might see that there's plenty of good **** around too. Look at this forum for example, it's a warm friendly place where people can display their ideas without being afraid of being persecuted or being discriminated against. Like, we've got vegans, bi sexuals and self procalimed vampires. If the people here could aply the same attitude to the rest of life, they'd be good people. Life is only what you make of it.

Survival of the fittest dude, that's what it's all about.

Future huh.......dunno. With all the huge corporations merging and gaining more power a cyberpunk-esque future could be coming. That would be kinda cool.

It would be cool if the future was all cyber punk 'n ****. I'd get all sorts of cybernetic implants, so I'd be 9'' 160 yearold who could break a lamppost on his head. That would be so cool.

lol! Yeah! 160-year-old DL with a lampost twisted around his head coz he tried to break it.

We are very accepting and that's a good thing. So, listen to DL, coz he's smart. *And when he's around 160-years-old, he'll break lamposts for our entertainment if we treat him nice 0.0*

DL raises a very good point. Go read it. *pause* I said read it, damn you! (kidding, kinda tired)

    Anyway, goodnight!

But...why only lampposts? Why not concrete slabs? Deatomizing bazooka-fry pans? Or...the kitchen sink!?

As for me, I'd be...5'7", black hair, 19, and total loser. Waitaminute...guess I'm happy the way I am. I think...

Here it is: the definitave proof that human nature is evil: http://searchrequests.weblogs.com/ Owners of websites can check their logs to see who has visited, from where, and what they searched for to get there. IE, Cloud could look in his log and find people had searched for "manga and anime"

The site above is a record of all the really weird searches people have made, sent in by the owners of the websites those searches pointed them to (usually errantly)

There is some truly sick stuff in there such as "never ending cartoon sex games", "the cat porn movie the crow", "nude cute japanese girl wearing red pants" (how the f is she nude then? and the sickest/funniest: "Ninja, F***, Baby, Special Olympics"

Yeah, I take back anything good I said about human nature.
