Well, I had taken a train home, but it was delayed for two hours. So, two hours late, I find myself dropped off at home via taxi (from the station). I smile. Home sweet home. Im about half way up the driveway, when...

Right then and there, the burglar alarm goes off.

Well, the story isnt even at the best part.

I stand there, by the tree, watching for anyone to leave.
And the worst part is, in the dark, when you expect some goon to bust outta your believed-secure home, things start to really freak you out.

The sound of icicles dripping becomes voices talking.

A snowy tree top become a hooded head, looking right at you.

Whats worse, my house is a big old house, the sort that could double as a ghost house, and its dark inside, except for one light on (note: my family was away on their March Break, hence nobody was home.)

So anyway, eventually, a full FIVE cop cars show up.
Only one thought me suspicious, and I cant blame them.

We explore the house. Since it was March Break, the heat had been turned off. Its freezing. Dark. Every floor-board creaks beneath our feet.

and...

turned out the ****ing cat set off the alarm.

 

I don't blame you, I would have been scared out of my wits and I would have cried like a little baby. I'm glad that my parents never leave me home alone... I'm such a baby

Cops went away, I locked the doors, gave the cat some milk, spent the rest of the evening as I normally would.

 

huh. that'd scare me to the point of me going into a full defense mode... *shrugs* I can't sit alone in a room though... not easily.
