Ah, I remember gleefull Sims sessions...

Putting all my mp3s into the radio folders...

Setting up a Death Box for any curious sim to investigate...

For those who don't know, this is when you build 3 walls in a sort of square, then lure a sim you dont like over there, then when they enter, build a fourth wall, locking them in until you decide to tear down the wall.

Yeah, I would say some things about The Sims, but then my wife would get after me... but it's one of those games that just seems to appeal to everybody. It's wildly popular... like a computerized Backstreet Boys that won't go away because there will never be a backlash against it.

I have the sims and have every expansion for it except livin' large. I bought the original Sims right before The Sims Deluxe Edition come out. Just got House Party and Unleashed like a week ago and have not played it much yet. Before I had to FFR (erase) my PC, I had a lesbian couple in the mansion house. It was fun watching them go at it in the hot tub and other places. I could never get them to do anything in the bed other than sleep. Does anyone know how? I also loved it when one sim would talk to another sim and it is not the sim they are in a relationship with and than that sim would come up and slap the person they are talking to. LOL:anime:
Ok well the real reason I am posting is to tell you guys that they are going to come out with The Sims Online, but you are going to have to pay a monthly charge to play it online like with Everquest. Are all online games going to have a monthly bill for now on? I am a little outraged by this fact. Well what do you guys think of having to pay to play?

It depends on the quality of the game.

Most games I would not pay a monthly fee to play...

I think a good alternative for game companies would be to allow people to set up their own servers, while they have their own pay-to-play server. How would they get any subscribers? Priority with tech support, early notification of patches, a far more publicized and user friendly method of connecting...

But it would have to be one HELL of a game.

Personally I wouldnt pay now... Master of Orion 3 isn't too far off and once I load that puppy up on my computer...

The door will shut, the curtains will be drawn, a couple cases of pop will be bought, some form of food will be kept close and I won't budge for three days straight.

My God, I can't wait for that game.

i made this thread cause i'm in the sims online beta test...so obviously, because it's a mmorpg, it's going to be pay.
and you use the heart bed for any actions like that...i bought the sims when it first came out...and every expansion when it came out...

i don't play it all the time anymore tho...or anywhere near as much as i did....pso has taken over my life...nyar and has me saving for a gamecube of my own

    BB...
Well I never thought of it as a MMORPG. You do not level up or go around facing baddies, but I guess you do "Role Play" as a character(s) and talk to other people. So I was not expecting to pay to play it online. I thought of it as like Starcraft or Warcraft, in the fact you don't have to pay to play those online. I wonder if all MMO games whether it is a RPG or not are going to be pay to play though?
And I know you are the beta tester for the game and that is what this thread is about, but I thought it might be ok to throw in the part of having to pay. Sorry if it isn't or wasn't.

P.S. Thanks for the tip about the bed

Ah . . Sims. It is a good series of realism on running parks, and lives. Sims used to be addicting but since they're are just making the same crap with Sim City, I just gave up. The Sims was entertaining especially when you put your house on fire on purpose. Maybe even when you catch a burglur and get cash from it. I hope The Sims Online will appeal to me.
