Square Enix Thoughts about XII

So what do you think of FFXII.From what I've been hearing this will be vastly different from the other FF's.(different people working on it)It hasnt begun development yet.(It may not begin development for a while seeing how Squaresoft is working on FFX side stories alot)What do you think it will be like?

 

Hmm, i don't really know what to think of FFXII. According to a Dutch PSX-magazine from April last year, Sakaguchi stated that it could be *possible* to be an offline game, which will be different from the plans that were made for FFXI. To quote and translate them:

Well, it's info from a long time ago, so the plans may have changed. And for as far as i know, the online plans weren't 100% completed as well, were they? Correct me if i'm wrong. Hope it'll be a nice online game, though i don't have a PS2 yet.

Can't say much of the graphics, i never saw a FF game with sucky graphics. There's no such thing as a FF game with mediocre graphics. The sound always was nice/fabulous, the gameplay is really addicting overall so i guess this will be a blast as well. The main point Square sticks to is variation. So it'll mainly be different from X and XI. You can't predict a FF game until you've played it ^^.

Lol i'm talking too much, but i hope it'll be a bit like IX, chibi and kawaii...i really loved that one

 

Ok people XI is alrady out in Japan, and scheduled for canada for december. I already bought the upgrade for my ps2. But it is coming out

 

I was just wondering if you were sure it's FFXII you ere talking about and not FFX 2, which is planned to be an action adventure type game.

 

FFXII.Im curious to know what others think it may be like.(If Squaresoft ever gets to it)

 

I dont know wether square will make a ffXII, but icertainly hope so, more than likely they will make it back into a traditional rpg, but u never know, it may be an online rpg

 

Well, FFXI is already vastly different, from what I hear. FF is changing, and fast. I'm not so sure I like the change. Going online is a big step, because when you think about it, online games never end.

I mean, I trust Squaresoft, I'm sure they know what they're doing. But still, I'm worried. I'm still looking forward to the FFs, so long as they're on some form of Sony console.

I mean, Squaresoft used to work with SNES because it was basically the most decent thing around. Now that Sony's around, I hope they stick with it.

It's going to put a strain on my pocket book, ya!

Or rather, add a lot to my christmas list!

Or both, actually.

I intent to buy all the FFs. So far, I'm pretty well on my way.

 

Right now square is trying to look for someone to provide servers for FFXI. Since hosting such a big title and game can be a real pain. I hope you guys read about what happened in Japan when it first went online. It downgraded FFXI quite a bit. Squarsoft said they will make it for PC if they could find servers. I don't know if they're going to make it for ps2 in English.

Now what happened to talking about FFXII? :T.

 

There's rumor going around that they wont.Has too many problems and by releasing it in more areas will only cause more problems.



On to the topic of FFXII,Ive heard that the game will be almost like Vagrant Story of FF Tactics....I think the FF Tactics team is working on XII rather than the traditional FF team.I think FFXII will be set in a world like Vagrant Story/FF Tactics.I think this game is going to be way different than the other FFs.

 

When some traditional games go online, millions of people take part and it may get a little messed up...

It's a cool idea though.
