    The new Unicron will be available through WalMart. They are taking pre-orders now online and the piece is slated to ship on or after 9/9/03.

    From the previews, this piece looks incredible.

    That's pretty neat... Does it transform into that rounded shape like it did in the movie?

    Yes, and it holds up to 25 mini-cons. Check out WalMarts web site--they have a short demo on the toy.

    Looks awfully expensive.
    And it'll probably only be available over here in specialist comic shops so to get it you'll have to remortgage your house.

    Not true, They are offering it through WalMart. I believe they are taking pre-orders via their website or at the store itself.

    I think they are marketing the piece under $50.

    Release Date Update:

    The new Unicron figure is set to hit stores on or about 7/28/03. That's right, a week from today, you can own the planet killer.

    Here are some details on the figure:

    *In planet mode, this amazing action figure features a Saturn- like ring around its body in which additional Mini-Cons (sold separately) can be placed

    *Planet ring contains a total of 24 pegs for Mini-Cons

    *Fully armed for a battle, Unicron Transformer comes with spring-loaded weapons, light-up effects and working features

    *Comes with Dead End Mini-Con figure

    *Comic book included and collectible sticker also included

    *Can hold up to 27 Mini-Con figures (sold separately)

    Im sure once these hit the market, you will see them on Ebay.

    I think WalMart may have the rights for the first batch.

    I was just wondering... Is this unicron going to feature in Transformers Armada? or is it just a new model of the one in the movie some 15 years ago?

    This one is a release from the Armada series. It has all the similiar trades from the movie version, but this one allows mini-cons to link up with it.
