Transformers Transformers: Armada... like or dislike?

What did you think of the new Transformers series?

 

First of all, your Galvatron avatar is cool.

And second of all, I think the armada is based on the new transformers. Well a little. But hey, some of the Transformers in the original like the construction team of the Decepticons, but in the new show, the have the construction team on the autobuts fan. And also on the new show, the have a team of Bullet Trains that can combine to a big robot from the Autobots.

Finally, 5 Decpticons off the new one also combine into a big robot.

 

The only reason that Constructacons are on the Autobots instead of the Decepticons is because of a different war between Autobots and Decepticons. Originally in the new show Autobots vs. Predacons

 

I saw the Toonami US trailer for it.
That was enough for me, it's like Transformers for the Pòkemon generation basically.
They'd be better off redubbing some of the Jap. TF series and releasing them, anything is better then RID and Armada.

The success of the Gen 1 manga shows there's still a market for the originals. It'd be nice to see Headmasters or even Masterforce without the awful Japanese English dub.

Hope to God Armada's a major flop and they finally lay the rotting carcass of the Transformers to rest.

 

I'd rather they put some more effort into RID, rather than revive the Japanese exclusive series (Victory, Z and erm.. battle masters or summink..) given that "Victory" in particular was just power rangers animated. The robots were pretty much reliant on the humans, and didn't look like transformers anyway. I thought RID looked like it had some promise, then I saw what they did to grimlock. No forgiveness!!

 

Honestly after the first transformers series, the people down there in Japan began an ignorant idea to make transformers an anime that is directed towards children. For instance a robot explodes after being shot at.....one day later he is doing the wattosee

 

Err, that's exactly wot the original Transformers series was.

Gen1 was designed to sell toys to children, it's "directed towards children"
How many times did the Aerial Bots get their asses blown up in Gen 1!?

 

I have to agree with this statement. when I first seen the pilot for Armada, I was very excited to see another Transformers hit the airwaves----Than I actually watched the episode.

This is really a bad show--what ever happen to Autobots fighting Decepticons for Energon.
Where's Spike when you need him. I can only get worse I think.

 

Well I dislike Armada. Sure it looks pretty and all but this kills old transformers fans, My brothe and I has been watching transformers for a while, but he has watched more than I because I was vey young than. He has watched all the series and I have watched most. I only came up to one conclusion "This is just the same crap but with different designs and a couple of new names."

 

I agree---they should have stuck to the old school styles and given those stories a chance for the newer audience.

 

Did anyone spot a whole bunch of Generation 1 autobots in the first episode? It was when Carlos triggered off the minicon signals and when it reached cybertron you could see a whole bunch of G1 transformers.

I spotted beachcomber, red alert (not the armada one, the G1 one that looks a bit like sidesswipe) Hound (the green jeep with a missile on his right shoulder), a plane that looks like skyfire, crosshairs, strafe (the technobot plane), and a miscoloured powerglide.

It's very interesting seeing all these cameos but none actually appear in the armada series

 

I saw Hound, Beachcomber, Crosshairs, Powerglide and Skyfire.

As far as Armada, the show sucks, the comics and toys rule
