Okay I have not read this yet, but I hear that the manga Trigun isn't much different from the anime except for a few addtions like that of a Gung-Ho Gung etc. The manga Trigun Maximum is sort of a sequel to the anime.

So is it good? I'm certain it is and would suggest any major fan of the anime to read either of these manga.

To say that Trigun Maximum is a sequel... that's not really true...
Trigun (the Manga) goes to the hole in the 5th moon incident with nothing but a few chronologically different events. The Manga was then dropped by that publisher, Trigun Maximum picks up after that. It takes the story in a new direction entirely. I now have all the volumes released so far of Trigun Maximum (and all 3 of Trigun), and while I haven't read them all the way through, I know it's quite different. When talking with Yasuhiro Nightow, Kuroda Yousuke (the screenwriter of the anime) showed him the script he'd written out, Mr Nightow said 'So THAT's how Trigun ends.'

You are correct. They changed publishers and their new publisher wanted them to change the title. So it goes volumes 1-3, then 1-8 (or whatever). Both are now licensed by Dark Horse Comics and they plan to release Trigun - Vol. 1 on October 8th, or as late as November.

I just picked up the first volume, and I must say that I'm impressed.:)

I actually think the nice, crisp illustrations of the manga are a little better than the sometimes choppy animation of the anime.

I'll have to get the other volumes.:)

Ya'll are going to love it when the stories signifigantly diverge.

I like how the manga starts at Episode 5 of the anime.:)

It cuts through all the bull and gets right to the story.:p
