Ok, perhaps I didn't mention this before, but ya'll should know. I'm a translator for Tokyopop, freelance work, very nice. I'm finally getting my first paycheck from them, so I'm extremely jazzed. $1500 isn't anything to laugh at. Especially when it gets me out of debt.

Thanks Izzy, Seraphim! I'm working on a series called Hitsuji no Uta, officially translated as Lament of the Lamb. Here's a link to Tokyopop's info site for it: Lament of the Lamb

Unfortunately, I have no power in the company... I'm just a lowly freelance translator.

Lowly... and yet still worshipped by some weird people for some strange reason.

    That's extremely cool, UK.

I may have to shell out a few bucks just to grab something with your handiwork to it. Funny that you mentioned the translator job in conversation to me before, but left out the whammo Tokyopop bit. :)

How could you not hear of Tokypop?

They're probably only the biggest name in licensed manga for English audiences. If I remember right, they were also the first group to release things "authentic" - right to left books ala true Manga instead of flipping the images. They're also usually very good with translations and don't affix an overly large price tag when they're all done.
