Just thought I'd say that. Man if Deus Ex 2 has graphics anything like it (and why not, same engine) it will rock in yet one more way.

Unreal 2 has teh sweet music, and color, something sorely lacking in doom 1-6 (including quake in that numbering), while still managing to scare the crap outta me. m00t

I'll prolly have to buy this game sa soon as that's possible heh
**** edit: looks like I can't abbreviate Unreal 2 to U2 in a thread about Unreal 2 without confusing people
**** edit: yes, of course I meant deus ex 2 lol my bad

Check the thread's title: Unreal 2. Could that possible be the "some game" I am talking about? Do you think maybe by U2 I meant Unreal 2? :D

You had to see the title of the thread, you clicked on it..
oh well. edited to prevent confusion

I'm just going to hope that by Deus Ex, you mean Deus Ex 2, as DE1 has been out for years and is certainly not on the U2 engine.. From what I've heard, it's a pretty sweet game (U2 that is).

Only problem I have with it is that I heard there's no multiplayer mode... I don't want to have to buy both Unreal 2 AND Unreal Tournament 2k3, basically the same game twice, just to have multiplayer and the single player campaign.

*is laughing *** off due to Lance Avalanche*

Whats the system req's? UT2K3 I *would* get, but it takes three bloody gigs of drive space and right now, though I COULD do it, I don't want to use that much up right now due to other projects.

you assumed correctly. I am looking forward to DX2 so much precisel because I played DX1 and loved it. Yes, I am aware that it is out and not based on the barely released Unreal 2 heh. I just missed the '2' key somehow. Will edit my post to avoid more confusion :p

Neph: Unreal 2 takes up about the same amount of space as ut2k3. CPU/GPU specs are a bit higher than ut2k3. If I were to choose, I'd go with ut2k3 I think. More replay value

    *spurt futter*

Yeah, I think I'll go with UT2K3. Someday. Actually, I may end up just buying a new external drive (using a laptop, cant upgrade those too well) and that'll solve all my problems. While I could easily throw UT2K3 on right now, what free space I do have is pretty much reserved for downloads from an FTP I go to, and Im just too lazy to download a little, back it up to cd, then delete it. Instead I just like to grab the whole series, back it up, and delete it. I should probably change...

I just got my hands on Unreal 2 myself, and am pleased with every aspect of the game except..

    The Accursed Loading Screen

I am finding myself waiting between 30 seconds to 3 mintes between each level/cutscene/etc. It's driving me batty :/ I really like the game itself, it's got a lot going for it from what I've played... but it's sad when you're afraid to die, not because you'll have to redo the level, but because you'll have to stare at that damned loading screen for ANOTHER 3 minutes...

    Ridiculous.

The system I'm running on has a fast hdd, has great loading times on most things... but U2 is just unbelievably slow to load.

Unreal two teh own.. 10 hours of gameplay later, /me changes his mind.

It was truly a shooter on rails. Linear fun! Luckily, with no multiplayer, and no branches I might have missed, I have no reason to ever play it again. Unreal 2 was the middle of mediocrity.

Still looked pretty though. If Deus Ex 2 can harness that eyecandy, or even improve on it, I will be a happy little boy

That's what I've heard from quite a few people now..

"Unreal 2 - Pretty, but Pointless."

Oh well, I still intend to play through once at least.
