Video Games upcoming games discussion

What games are you looking forward to? What games might be really popular, but look dissapointing to you?

I am really looking forward to Silent Hill 3 and the new Tomb Raider subtitled Angel of Darkness. Can we all say oxymoron.
And Final Fantasy XI is looking really good too, looking better than any Everquest game. It is too bad you will be required to be rich to play it. Cus you will have to buy the Netowrk Adaptor, a PS2 soon to be realeased Hard Drive, and pay a monthly fee to play it. Ohh you will probably be required to have broadband (DSL or cable modem), but I already have that, but it is the slowest broadband you can get. Oh and did I mention you will also have to purchase $50 game too?

The new Zelda game for the Gamecube looks like a freakin' cartoon. What is up with that? What happen to the dark and droomy zelda? And Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (did I spell that right?) is said to be like a Zelda game with hearts for HP. It might still be a good game, but I am wondering is if there is still a group of people or are you just one person? I am also wondering the samething about FF XI? I was thinking that maybe FF XI is both, you can be one person or a group of people.

Well anyone else want to talk about upcoming games?

 

I, strangely enough am looking forward to the rerelease of final fantasy tactics for the GBA, although i already have it for the PS, i still can't wait for it to come out. also golden sun 2, i know its already out but i really wanna play wild arms 3.

anyway are you serios about all that stuff you have to by for PS2 just to play FFXI?! my god its not enough that you have to pay for the game, but then the make you pay like $150+ for all the little things it goes with. thats really not fun.

i'm not upto date with PS2 and game cube, heck, i've olny got a PS1 and a GBA. i guess thats why i'm more intrested in GBA stuff. of course there not making anymore PS game, right? i think.

Yea I am serious about having to buy all the stuff to play FF XI. It sucks. It might just be better to wait another six months for the PC release, cus your computer already has all that stuff. The only big thing is the hard drive you are going to have to buy. It is going to be released around the sametime as FF XI is. But if you are the kind of gamer I am you are going to want to get and use the network adaptor for other games like ATV 2 and SOCOM. Than the monthly fee is also the other outrageous thing. I hope it isn't 10 bucks a month like The SIms Online is. I hope it is five or less.

And I do not have a Gamecube yet, but looking into getting one before next summer. And do not think I am going to get a XBox since I already have a good PC - P4 1.5 Ghz 256 Mb of RAM - and could play any PC game on it. And almost if not all Xbox games eventually come to PC.

 

Hmmm... that's a tough one... The Sims for the PS2 I really wanna get. And, though it sounds stupid, RPG Maker 2. And of course I'll be looking forward to anime new Gundam games for the PS2 that will hopefully be released soon (and hopefully a Gundam game or two for the GBA)!
Any and all anime-based games I'll be looking forward too to, other than DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Digimon.... I can't stand those shows... Ugh...
Lets hope there will be a Tremors game for the PS2 once the Tremors series starts on the Sci Fi channel!

 

FF XI is already out in Japan and is coming to the U.S. before April. And they started making FF XII for Japan. Than once they release it in Japan they will start on the U.S. version. Not too sure about other contintent release dates.

 

I'm looking forward to Star Wars: Galaxies... on March 18th 2003, life in the real world ceases for millions of star wars fans I don't plan on getting TOO involved in it, but what I've seen and heard looks reallly promising so far... And I don't have to buy any new hardware to play it, which is a bonus.

Yes you will have to pay a monthly fee to play the game. It will proabably be around $10 U.S. dollars. I am hoping that it is only $5. And yes you will be required to have a network adaptor, PS2 HDD (hard disk drive), and I am not too sure but you might be required to have broadband internet too., and also pay $50 to buy the game. The thing that is messed up is the PS2 HDD might not even be released when the game is released. It migght come out a month later. But there is other compatible HDD that will work for your PS2 you could get to play the game.

hmmm silent hill 3 eh? my dad just got silent hill 2, and i havent got the guts to play it. but i did play it for a little bit.
i played for about 5 mins, got lost, then i saw the first monster hobbling away into the mist and im like "arrr!" and thats when i closed it. i know. im a wuss. :sweat:. it was about 2am, so it was dark. and, yeah... ill probably try again during the day. maybe ill go a bit further this time...

That is about the only game I hae looked forward to since jedi knight 2 came out. I think I am starting to tire of them. Nooo!! I must be getting old

 

Games I have just took another look at are Tomb Raider: The`Angel of Darkness, Silent Hill 3, .hack: Infection.

Silent Hill 3 was schelduled to come out in Febraury, but now looks like it is going to be released sometime in the summer. oh well. It looks alot better than it's previous installments. There is still that annoying fog. Gamespot did say that it does have the best-looking characters on the PlayStation 2 to date. And it is going to come out with it's soundtrack.

Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness looks really sweet and is going to be released in Mid Febraury. tombraider.com has a making of the game trailer video. They say it is going to set new benchmarks for video games, just like there previous installments have. This game is going to have the talking elements you would find in an RPG, shooting elements you would find in a MGS game, and monsters that you would see in a RE game. You will also be able to play as another character other than Lara Croft. They also have music elements that you would find in a movie. They even said that this game is going to be like a movie with multiple path and endings. I am not sure why not more people are looking forward to this game.

And .hack: part 1 Infection looks like an awesome single player MMORPG. That might not make any sense but that is exactly what it is. The game is about a game. Well actually it is about a MMORPG. There is also going to be other .hack games (part 2, 3...) every 3 or 4 months. This game is going to be released Febraury 3rd.

What do you all think of these three games?

I'm still waiting for new Gundam games here in America. I played Gundam Battle Online for the Sega Dreamcast a few months to a year ago. It's so cool! Now that the PS2 has an online adapter, I hope Gundam Battle Online comes out for it in America (and I'll actually be able to understand the language!) I also hope Gundam Lost War Cronicles makes it to America. That game looks so cool!

I Can't Wait For Starcraft Ghost! Not Only Will It Be On Comp But On Xbox Too! It's Going To Be Way Better Than WarCraft 3, I Have It Here And It's Pretty Boring. I'd Rather Play Normal Starcraft Than WarCraft3.
