Scanlator: ShocwaveChapter 175: ReunionSynopsisThe unthinkable target that's been displayed is now Tae Kojima - Kurono's girlfriend. The crew, esp the newer men, mildly deride the target, noting her weakness and human status. Reika watches Kurono intently, aware of his conflicted mental state. Izumi recognizes the target and asks Kurono what he's thinking about. Kurono shouts to Gantz to let him be the first to enter, shocking the group. As if responding, Gantz begins to send Kurono in first while Izumi watches. Kurono, having phased in, runs about his house looking for Tae, shouting her name. A flash to Tae shows her with the elusive film roll. During this, the rest of the Gantz crew zone in and note that Kurono (the leader) isn't there. Izumi reveals to the crew that Tae is Kurono's girlfriend. A few crew members question aloud the ethics of killing a human, while others note that this is Gantz' rules and she has to be killed. Others still note she may be an alien(!?). Izumi cautions the others that Kurono is now an enemy and may target them; Baldy asserts his confidence and faith in Kurono not harming them. Elsewhere, Kurono has found Tae as he looks up and sees the pajama-clad girl looking at him from a window. What will his decision be?Brief ReactionOkay, Gantz had gotten weird lately with the nano-vampires etc. However, I'm really into this new mission storyline. Gantz' rather sadistic humor in assigning poor Tae as the target makes perfect sense considering the rather fickle nature of Gantz. Having her as a target is amusing in so many ways for Gantz: 1) She's gotten information about Gantz which outsiders cannot have (film); 2) Having her as a target increases the tension of his "show" - Kurono, arguably one of the best players Gantz has now, is pitted against his team that he crafted in order to save her. Kurono's decision at the end of the chapter is a bit of a cliffhanger - did he go to save her? or did he go to eliminate her? Personally, I don't think there's as much of a cliffhanger here given Kurono's history. He has a huge protective streak in him oddly enough for a loner like he was. I'm rather stoked about the upcoming showdown between Kurono's survivalistic instincts against the team he's built up and of course... Izumi.
