I think he's a great voice actor but he really does seem to be over used. Ever since he first turned up in the US Renditions releases so long ago he's popped up in practically everything.
Despite this I still like it when I hear his voice in yet another anime

This is one short interview that was on Akadot a while ago-

David Lucas has voiced some of the most memorable anime characters in recent years including Char from "Char's Counterattack," the eponymous Red Hawk, Gara the ninja master from "Bastard!" and Shin from "Fist of the North Star." But most notably, Lucas played "Cowboy Bebop's" surly, cool-headed hero Spike. Spend a few minutes with him and deduce for yourself whether he evades hot topics by answering a question with a question.

DL: Who?

DL: Personally I'd rather be a happy genius that everyone thinks is a tormented idiot.

DL: There's this waiter at Ed Debevics... great range, very real... decent service too.

DL: The air of Hollywood.

DL: Mac, with soy cheese, please.

DL: As you can tell, I like to combine things. I think a cocktail of the two would be nice. Like Sasquatch with a sword. Come to think of it, I voiced a role like that once...

What situation comedy best describes your life, "Home Improvement," "All in the Family," "Taxi" or "MASH?"

DL: "MASH." It's definitely a battlefield out there, but I still manage to have a darn good time.

If aliens landed in your living room and asked you what is the greatest feature Earth has to offer, how would you answer?

DL: The vast, exquisite beauty and detail of its natural places. Unfortunately finding them is getting to be a bit more difficult. Don't get me started.

Will you be most likely to go for an American woman or a Euro-trash girl?

DL: Already got me a good woman, don't care.

DL: Are you coming on to me?



You can hear Lucas on the Cartoon Network playing Roger Smith in "Big O" as well as in Manga Entertainment's "Street Fighter II V" playing Dhalsim. David Lucas is a musician living in Los Angeles who has found himself a good woman. Groovy.

If you have a look around Akadot I think there are a few more interviews which involve him.

As of yet I haven't seen any pictures of him, if someone goes through all of the Bebop sites on Anipike there's a high chance at least one of them has a pic.

 

No luck with the search so far, none of the database sites have any picture of him.

There has been some confusion though, there's a fat comedian called David Lucas (http://www.davidlucas.com), this is not the same person.

One person has said they saw a pic of him and that he does look a bit like Spike, just not as skinny. Personally I think the person was talkin out his/her *** though.

after numerous attempts at finding a picture of him, i have concluded this:
Dave Lucas is just a voice in a jar. i think he might have been blown up or sumthing, like out of robocop...and all that remained was his voice...so they put it in a jar. or maybe he's just a little camera shy, i dunno

 

Ooo, same initials as meh(meh nick anyhow). I too will pitch in in this search.
So far I have found that there is also an english cricket player called David Lucas. Hmm...
