Cool. I found a Macross lithograph at dynamic forces (I didn't have any money, poor me), Battle of the Planets is being released on dvd and has been turned into a comic, and now Voltron is becoming a comic. I can literally see my checking account shrink. This is really neat.

    New Series, too?

Ah yes...Ross Perot's Giant Sucking Sound!

There is also a rumor that a new Voltron series is in the works. Hopefully, it will not be another 3D experiment and will feature both Voltrons. (Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing the never-completed Voltron II, either). I just hope the animation isn't as bad as Season II of Lion Voltron.

What I would really love is to see Sven return for good and get back into his rightful place as pilot of the Blue Lion. I might have mentioned this before, but in the original Japanese series (Golion), the Sven character was actually killed, and who we see as Sven later is his brother out for revenge of his brother's death. In the final Season I episode of Voltron, Sven and Lotor fall off a cliff into the water and both survive to continue on in the American-made Season II. But in the Japanese version, both of them fall to their deaths and the story ended there. (Kind of like Berg Katse and Joe dying in Gatchaman, but we never see Zoltar and Jason die in Battle of the Planets.)

Like Gatchaman, there is a tremendous amount of violence in Golion, which was edited out from Voltron. Some of this was not a problem because of additional commercial time when Voltron came out in 1984, which was more than Battle of the Planets had to deal with in 1978. Voltron filled the rest of the void mostly with stock footage. Had Battle of the Planets been made in 1984, perhaps Jameson Brewer (who wrote for both Battle of the Planets and Season I of Lion Voltron) would have taken the same route and not felt the pressure of so much time to fill, making it more like G-Force, and hence no Zark!

No, there hasn't been any word when the TV series will come out. They are still in the discussion phase. When I hear something, I'll post it here.

I HOPE THEY USE BOTH VOLTRONS IN THE NEW COMIC. IT WOULD BE COOL TO SEE THEM FIGHT SIDE-BY-SIDE AGAIN.

Word is that it will be Lion Voltron in the beginning, and will be an Ultimate comic, which means it will retell the beginning as we saw it in the beginning of the show (like they did with the Battle of the Planets comic. I just hope they leave Sven flying the Blue Lion for longer than six issues!

After a little while, Vehicle Voltron should start to make a presence. I hope so, because I like VV more than LV.

May 2003 is still the target date for Issue 1. It will be a monthly series.

I really hope they use both Voltron's in this new series.

Have you heard anything more on the new TV series?

I want both Voltrons in it as well. I'm sure that Vehicle Voltron will make his way into it once the book is established.

I would also like to see Arbegas (Voltron II) come in. Since Lion Voltron protecs the Far Galaxy and Vehicle Voltron protects the Near Galaxy, Gladiator Voltron could protect the Middle Galaxy.

Nothing new on the TV series. It's supposed to be interactive, where if you have certain toys, they do things while the show is on TV.

From what I know of Voltron II, he was an Earth-based protector.

It may be hard to see stories with him if they concentrate on the deep space storyline---that would allow both V-Voltron and L-Voltron to intertwine.

They could do Galaxcy Garrison stories and then include Gladiator Voltron.

True, now that you mention it, I do remember reading that about Arbegas. We have hope, though...Gatchaman was an Earth-based show, and Sandy Frank successfully made Battle of the Planets into a space-venturing show.

Am I the only one dying for this book to come out? I just hope the animation stays true to the series. Messing with that would really turn me off.

I can always trust you to reply to my notes! This is almost like public e-mail. I wish we could get a few more takers here. :)

No new news on the TV Show. I'm new to this interective stuff. I mean, how can something on the TV make a device you have in the home do certain things? Unless you plug it into the TV, I'm clueless to this technology. I've heard some people are turned off by the possibility of the interactive show, but if it doesn't affect someone like me who probably won't have the toy, and it will look the same as a regular TV show, then I don't care. I'm sure it won't be like the old 3-D shows that unless you had the glasses, you really couldn't watch.

I just received a couple of Vehicle Voltron episodes (actually, seven episodes on two tapes!) and a nice VV t-shirt from WEP!
