Do you think the Bebop (the ship) was kind of like a limbo for its characters? Each of them had become bounty hunters to leave their old lives behind (spike and jet) or start new ones (ed) and whatever Fey was. The ship seemed like a place for societal dropouts to hang out and reconsider their lives.

Think of all the moral lessons the characters learned from their bounties. Think how in the end each of them had matured somehow. Jet had learned to stick by his buddy. Fey had learned the past doesn't matter. Spike confuses me though. I'd like to believe there was some moral lesson he learned that brought him before Vicious, but I'm stuck here. Honestly I'm not sure if the ship functioned this way, but I want to believe it did. I want to believe the profession of bounty hunters, considered the lowest and degrating of all professions, put the characters in proper perspectives to learn about themselves. If the writers didn't intend this, they should have.

Not necessarily... Bebop may seem like limbo, but limbo is not bebop. Here's a recap of "limbo"...
They sound similar, but not quite the same.

Perhaps limbo was the wrong word. I just can't think of any other to describe it.

I think Spike's character shows a that some things end where they started.. Spikes life really Started when he Loved Julia and he met His best friend vicious.. Spike's life ended when he lost Julia and ended things with his former best friend..

make any sense?? or that just all confusing..

It seems like its actually ironic. It seems Spike was trying to start his life over, and he ended up, from the begginning all over again, sort of.

Eh, I don't think Spike was so much trying to start his life over but rather finish his life, finish unfinished business and all that jazz.
