Um, it's about 5 teenage pretty boy florists who fight evil. No, seriously... Draw your own conclusions [IMG]

It's kinda fun actually, but it's very much a chicks anime - much more so than Gundam Wing or any other pretty-pouting-boy series - just witness the scary amount of yaoi about on the net originating with WeiB Kreuz... I wouldn't let this put you off particularly if you like the look of it, because it has some cool combat bits and whatnot. Bit of a mixed bag really.

My friend from Korea had some vcds of Weiss Kreuz, and got some from a fansub distributor. She has posters and pics of this anime too. But the reason why she likes it, is for the bad guys. She's a bad guy lover. Perhaps it is a chick anime, with how much she likes those guys.
I remember a time I saw the poster of the four good guys and said they looked like 'Flower Boys' (referring to when Bloodberry called Hanagata that in SMJ>X) Just joking around, and she said, "How did you know! They are! They run a flower shop during the day!"
    Man..that was funny...
But in the end, she doesnt like the main characters, stating they talk too much of stuff of unimportance.
But its all hearsay from her, myself, I only watched the first four episodes subbed in Korean...

Wish we had a friend like that - one of my friends got the first two or three episodes of Mugen no Ryvius - but they were subbed in Korean. We've been able to get the first ep subbed in English, but that's it, and it took a long time and a hard search to snag.

The Eleventh Commandment, 'Thou Shall Not Spam' has been broken several times...I must repent...
If one is looking for a fansub distributor: Hitokiri's Fansub Haven has a lot, including all of Weiss Kreuz. She's based in New York.

Weiss Kreuz would be considered a girl's anime. Why?
There are 8 guys, all of them drool-inducingly hot running around, some of them half naked at times, others clad in S&M gear (*cough Farfarello cough*)

But, it could also be described as a boy's anime becuase of the sheer amount of violence at times. Hehehe.

    I think it's unisex. :dizzy2:

lolz,i agree with you. weiis kreuz would be considered as a girl's anime because of the 8 bishounens there.

but it could also be considered a guy's anime since it's action and there also has some gorgeous ladies there.

    so i guess its unisex

    *cough*

Just as a note, Weiss Kreuz is available commercially under the title Knight Hunters. Media Blasters has released all of it but the OAV, so fansubs shouldn't be in circulation any longer.

I personally think that it is a series targeted mainly at girls for the reasons mentioned. However, I think boys can enjoy this series as well, but they won't be viewing it from the same angle as the girls who watch it.

I still have to see the rest of Weiss Kreuz Gluhen, which has not been licensed to my knowledge. *sigh* So much anime, so little time.

BURN IT KILL IT SEND IT TO HELL!!!

    ...

Anyway. Yes. It is entirely a girls anime, and yes, it may have violence, but violence does not a mans show make.

This series is aimed almost entirely at girls. Not to say that boys can't enjoy it, but... it's variable, since it plays on the fact that "WOMEN LOVE BISHOUNEN/THESE PARTICULAR VOICE ACTORS!" It's also somewhat of a "Let's make Takehito Koyasu look really cool" project. :)

I'm a girl, and the whole formula doesn't work for me. Weiss is cheesier than anything, especially when it tries to be serious. That and some nasty animation issues bring it down. The actors and the vocal songs by them are good overall. That's a given. That's about the best part of it. I was disappointed in Weiss. I mean, assassins! Flower shoppery! So much potential... sort of...

Guys would like the action scenes, and I can't see much else appealing to them -- though the sheer corniness of the series can be amusing. They might also like some of the screwier vocal songs ("Spiritualized"... HEHEHEHE).
