For those who are wondering what is Death Note here is a brief introduction.

A Death Note is a death gods note book that kills humans.

Introduction
A high school honor student Raito Yagami (Light Yagami in English Manga) is considered an ace student with great potential but he is completely bored out of his mind. School just isn’t challenging enough for him. But that all changes the day he picks up the Death Note.

Raito thought that the Death Note was a hoax. So he decides to try it out on a whim. Playing Shinigami (Death God) might be a little fun. Following the instruction left in English inside the Death Note he writes down a name. Keeping the face in mind of a killer released on the news that had hostages at the time. He wants quick results. Forty seconds pass and nothing had happened. Maybe the Death Note was just a hoax.

Raito watches the news as the hostages come out. Something had happened. Could it be that the Death Note is real? Did the man die of a heart attack just like the Death Note rules said he would?

Raito learns that the suspect is dead. Could it have been suicide? According to the hostages the news declares the man just collapsed.

It could just be a coincidence. He decides to test it again. One person just isn’t enough. Instead Ratio gets pulled back into his old life but this time with a strange urge to kill.

But can Ratio still kill with his human mind? Or would it drive him insane?

He decided he will use his new found ability to cleanse the world. In fact he wants to create an ideal world by killing off all the criminals. Even if it costs him is own life for he believes that he is the only one capable of doing it.

It doesn’t end there. Even an idiot could tell that someone is passing down the judgment of death on the evil people of the world.

Eventually Interpol, the World’s Governments intelligent agency, starts to notice the unusual deaths. They figure out something has to be behind it. This is where the master detective of the world L comes in. His job is to find out whom or what are behind all those criminals deaths. They dub the killer Kira.

Unfortunately for Ratio, L is a worthy foe who is either at Raito’s level or above. With careful deduction and Kira’s mistakes L is able to determine that Kira resides in Tokyo.

With L closing in on him, Raito decides that he must find out L’s true identity and write it in the Death Note. But L is again a step a head of him. L has never been seen and never used his real name. Time is running out for Raito. The police and L are closing in on him.

Let’s not forget the previous holder of the Death Note the Shinigami Ryuku. Ryuku dropped the Death Note into the human world because he was bored. He also made a promise to Raito that he would be the one to write Raito name into his Death Note.

After the first volume is done Raito has killed 1,000 people can he still sustain?
