This is my first ever post at any forum with a piece of art, and I'm just wanting to know what you would think about it. It isn't manga, but I think it's an interesting character. Post feedback for any suggestions, please. Thank you!

    Hmm... good, but two things.

    They're both about the neck.

The arms and hands are very thick, while the neck is rather thin. It seems a bit out of place.

The other thin is regarding the crest on his head. I'm assuming its made out of bone. Given the smallness and 'moveable' nature of his neck, I wonder if it could really support it without it getting akward.

    Otherwise its really good.

Well I can answer practically all of the problems. The large, thick hands are just an exaggeration I give some of my characters that I draw. I'm not into drawing anatomically correct if it isn't human. As for the neck, the same reason, since I was trying to give it a bird-like appearance. I'm going for more of the fantastical than realistic. As for the bony projections, I can put two more reasons for that. In real life aspects, fiddler crabs have one enormous claw and one small one, yet they function perfectly fine. As for the fantastical aspects, it just makes it look cool.

True, but on a fiddler crab that claw isnt part of the neck. Theres also the exo-skelatal system of a crab...

But then if this is a bird-like creature, maybe it has hollow bones and that crest is more on the light side.

Sorry, I'm just one of those people who tries to rationalize fantasy.

nifty. It's not human and you made the character and species up, so I have no qualms with its anatomy ;)

I give it a 7/10 rating, just out of range of a Dredz "Commendation of Excellence".

The necks still looks odd, to be honest.

I'll just put it simply for the neck: you can't tell me a vulture's neck looks normal, since that is what I based my neck on :).

I think everyone is saying the neck looks odd due to the beefiness of the rest of the body, and maybe also due to the size of the head crest.

Well, I commend you guys for being honest about how you feel about the picture , but how small should they be? If you can answer me that, according to how this picture of an imaginative creature that doesn't even follow most anatomical rules SHOULD be drawn, I would be happy to correct it :). No lynching, please.

Maybe the neck should be changed... But other than that, It's cool.
