    Yaoi and Yuri are fine by me, I have no problem with either. Incase no one noticed yet, being a lover of both genders, I personally promote both. :D Erm, that's all I have to say, I wanted to make this more of a long post, but I can't think right now. ^^;

only produced by the same ppl...for the anime that is...naoko takeuchi didn't do Revolutinary girl utena. only sailormoon. she didn't even do the anime eps for utena...Be-Papas did the story and chiho saito did the art...

as for the subject, it's fine. i mean, it is a part of modern society and there's no fighting it, so why not.

::really thinks with already two people who don't like it, this would probably be the worst enviroment to introduce his old Angel/Demon/Fallen story, which contained mass homosexuality and other unspeakables ^^;::

I heard on the TV (was it History or discovery?) that in Japan it was common for young girls to establish lesbian relationships, as a way to explore their sexuality in a "safe" way, before they would engage in serious relationships.

So I guess that's why we see so much of it in anime.

About me, i find it personally disturbing. But I'm trying to understand their point of view, as I'm writing a SMJ fanfiction with a character who is lesbian (note that i'm talking about the real homosexual condition, not anime romance or artificially induced behavior). I plan it to have a major plot in my fic, like including a debate about sexuality on the highschool in my story.

Anyone interested can read the thread 'saber marionette 90210' on the SMJ forum.

But sometimes I wonder if yuri anime is written by men to entertain men... or it's just something that came to their minds. Who knows?

personally im not bothered by it at all. maybe because im completely unbothered by homosexuality. i mean stories/plots reflect real life, and homosexuality is real, not some demon under the bed trying to seduce little girls and boys. so its only natural that it would happen in anime. and i mean, if we're talking along the lines of non*porngraphic relationships specially, what is to be found disturbing? any vulgar thoughts are not made by the actions of the characters, but how deep you let your imagination diving into the situation. but then again. it all personal choice, its all reflecting personal taste and values, which is cool. but all i know is i wont turn off a perfectly good and interesting anime just because to same sex characters seem to like each other a little too much.

    *heart* rei

I agree somewhat with Rei, Bloodberry and ArkAnjil.

It's a part of life, it's not like they just made up the concept.

It doesn't really disturb me, since it's a part of life. It's not as if I'll go out of my way to make sure all the anime I watch contains Yaoi or Yuri, but if its there, and it brings something to the story, fine by me.

Hey, there are rumors that my fave bishounen are gay, but I don't care. I like to look at both sides of the yin-yang. Duo is paired up with Hilde or Heero. Heero is paired up with Relena or Duo. If Duo were gay, all signs would point to him and Heero being a couple, but or else, I'd love to take Hilde's place :)

I don't care, I'm not against, so I guess I'm for anime with realism.

It's fine with me some reallygood stories are yaoi.and I enjoy them the same as stories with oppsite sex caracethr who are in love. The fact is the Japense didn't come up withe the whole I'm gay concept it's been around for a loooooooooooong time and will remain that way until the end of the world. They just took it and used it in their stories becuse it is something that happens in real life and that what so many of these stories potray is real life.

It doesn't bother me. If there's a scene where there's a couple of guys, well, doing stuff, I'm a bit like "Dude... to much," but it definately wouldn't stop me from watching the anime or anything.

    Tricked!

That'll teach me to vote before I read the title of the poll, you swine, Kichie!

But on the subject... I was thinking that the gay stuff in anime was okay and not a particularly special part of it but then I remembered the SM movie with the 'love triangle' between Usagi, Mamoru and Fiore and what a crack-up that was. I've decided that I love it. Can't say I've actually been turned on by any of it so far but I can always hope!

    May be a bad question

This is prolly a really bad question, and not to pry into lifestyles and such... but am I the only one that doesn't mind Yaoi and Yuri... because I prefer either gender? :dizzy2:

Hey to each ihs own. The only ones I don't like are the ones that are just about the sex. If it has a good storyline and god characters I'll read it but if not and i's all about the sex then I won't

Hmm... it's not that I'm totally against yuri and yaoi characters or their general topics. Really, I'm not too picky about it. ^^; The only except is when the relationships get TOO explicit, and from that point, I get very very disturbed! I mean, friendly yaoi/yuri situations are kinda ok for me, such as Syaoran and Yukito of Card Captor Sakura.

Sometimes, I just can't really understand why they LOVE these topics of "lesbians", to the point of ecchi and hentai - -;; it's kinda sickening, you know.

Eh, anime is anime. People say it's a part of life, and I agree. Shoot, half the bad things wouldn't happen to Hanako (hehe...) if he didn't like Otaru-kun the way he did.

And anyway, life is life, ne? Anime just chooses to portray it in their cartoons.
