To me, I think the OVA was way better than the movie. Why? Well first, the art and graphic in OVA version was a little bettle than the movie. Second is because the OVA was more focus on the love between Bell and Keii than the movie. What do you guy think?

    EHEM.

I personally think that the OAVS and the Movie are equal. Please know that OAVS have no influence on the Movie ( Actual words from Mr Fujishima-sensei ). They are two different "type" of situtations. In the OAV, You will see that they meet and how their realtionships develop. In the Movie, it's about trusting each other forever...

If you look at the art and designs, Belldandy & Keiichi looks much better on the Movie than the OAVS. Mostly that the Movie had a way larger budget than the OAVS. Also know that this took place "three springs" later, in other words, 3 years later. The Characthers Develop on the same way, as they age. Keiichi has matured alot from the OAVS, Belldandy, Skuld, & Urd all have new looks...this shows cleary if you compare to the Oavs :). Also note that not only Bell & Keiichi have matured alot, also Skuld & Urd...expect for the last incident of the movie :D

If you talk about the romance, it's much more depth on the movie than the OAVS. Hence: It's was about trusting the one you love, in this case the love of Belldandy & Keiichi was tested through the gate of judgement. And everyone knows what will happen if you don't trust each other :)

    I have said my word.

Can I ask a question that's been bugging me for a long time? I went to the store the other day and whatever, and saw a Rurouni Kenshin OAV, and it looked different, leading me to think... WHY THE CRAP DOES IT LOOK DIFFERENT?! THUS leading me to think "Hmm, they must be made by different people?" OR "Maybe they're computerized or something?" So, to sum it up into one question... What the heck is as OAV?

OAV = Orignal Animated Video. In other words, these kind of anime doesnt show on the TV. They have a way larger budget to create the anime :)

Usually artwork is different also in OAV, in pertaining to the larger budget. Notice that in Ranma 1/2 OAVs, more of the cells are filled with detail, even the in-betweens. Compare it to the series, and the in-betweens (where the actions take place) are a lot less complex in design.

And, I believe that Fujishima also states that the movie is a spin-off from the manga, seeing as how he actually contrived designs and personalities from it. I may be wrong though.

I, too, don't have a preference, as both are good enough. What I liked about the movie though, is the way they portrayed their goddess powers. It was exactly like I thought it would be, had it been animated in the first place, especially Urd's lightning.

    ask teddzie :D

nah, I can tell that "AMG" stand for "Ah! My Goddess" and to quote Teddzie

I think it would be better to write the whole name of the anime instead of just a shortening cause some people might not understand what the shortening is for, like in this case

Well, Fujishima-Sensei clearly used the new looks. I mean, During at time Urd & Skuld changed their hairstyles. Hence: It begins on the Queen Sayako GN, where Skuld got the ribbon and Urd that new sexy straight hair :).

What I also enjoyed on the movie, is the angels. Seeing World Of Elegance, Blessed Bell and Noble Scarlet really made my day when seeing the movie the first time. I adore the last scene, where the goddess sings to destroy the Thor program. Beautiful singing by Inoue Kikuko, Hisakawa Aya, Touma Yumi and the Polish Orchestera chorus ( i believe :) ).

We already explained OAV. So, I won't bother too much on that.

AMG is Aa! Megamisama! or better known to translators as Oh! My Goddess. It's about a college student that gains a wish, and actually wishes for the goddess that grants him one, to be with him forever. Adventures pop out from there.

The OAV for this show is actually only 5 episodes long. I'd have loved to have 9 or so, but 5 is the final number.

The movie was released a number of years back.

There is also a Mini-Goddess series, and I believe a running series of normal episodes in Japan. Or, at least, there will be.

Tedz will give you more accurate readings on that.

Thank you for your kind words Izzy :')

Well, the adventures of mini goddesses is basiclly 48 episodes, 5-7 mins long each.

It's about the goddesses trio, Urd, Skuld & Belldandy.."shrinked" to a handy petite size. And a rat named Gan-chan is their fellow friend.

The adventures are often crazy stuff, such as: a parody over Godzilla, Die Hard etc etc. Really Hilarous at start, but [ i shouldnt say this but ] but rather boring after some 20 episodes. But the good thing about this, that it's very short and Mara! The Demoness appears on the show :)

    And For Those Who Wonder.

There have been some rumours about a 26 (?) episode long TV show in development of Aa!! Megami-sama.
But, the negative aspects of this is that Koisuke Fujishima, the creator behind Aa!! Megami-sama, You are Under Arrest, and éX Driver, is willing to finish the " You are Under Arrest " Story before making a new AMG TV show.

The Reason? YOA is popular than AMG nowadays, and if you look this from a economic point of view, than you will understand the reason of why Fujishima-sensei wants to finish it.

Hopefully, a new TV series of AMG will come up, because I've seen the OAVS more than 50 times...
