Anime What is Gasaraki?

I saw a preview for this anime a while ago, but it confuses me..... Please tell me where to get it!!!

 

Lessee. Simplest description - mecha series combining an emphasis on realism and political struggles with a mystical element. The basic story early on focuses on the testing of first-generation bipedal weapons by Gowa corporation and the performance of a strange summoning ritual by the same people. During the ritual, Yushiro, the main character, has a vision of a mysterious girl. A phenomenon thought to be a nuclear weapons test is observed in a middle-eastern country, war ensues, and Gowa subverts the Japanese constitution to get their mechas deployed in the region. During the deployment, Yushiro meets the girl from his vision...

ADV Films has released the whole series on VHS and DVD in North America.

Otaru may tell you that Gasaraki is probably one of the longest build-ups ever. Don't let that scare you (too much).

edit: I wouldn't be surprised if ADV was at least planning a UK release, but somebody else might have the UK license.

 

The first two volumes have already been released in the UK/Ireland.

I just bought the whole series recenlty and am about two thirds of the way through it. I heard some people say it drags on a bit but it's held my attention pretty well so far. I haven't wathced so much anime continuously in over a year. So I suppose you could say it my anime of the year so far and I do watch a lot of anime.

 

I didn't know about this anime at all. I just came to visit this board cuz I've never been here before...and it's so empty! (just a silly comment... ehehehe....)
