Hehe, I have no idea what Ranma 1/2 is about but I know it's by the creator of InuYasha so it can't possibly be bad, right? All I know is that it was a cool fighting game and theres a PANDA!! WHEEEEE!! PANDAPANDAPANDAPANDAPANDAPAN... ok, so anyway, what's it about?!

Ranma is about a boy who traveled with his dad so he could train in the ways of Martial Arts. One day while training he fell into a little lake thing and now whenever he gets doused with cold water he turns into a girl. The girl's spirit drowned in that little lake 1,000 years ago I think.

Then his dad says he's engaged to some girl so they go to live with them and get the wedding ready but Ranma is totally against it cause he doesn't want to marry a "tomboy" but either way he finds himself falling in love with Akane.

Meanwhile, a lot of other people come after Ranma cause they blame him for THEIR curses (Ranma is also considered cursed). Shampoo turns into a cat (Ranma is afraid of cats), Moose, turns into a goose, and Ryouga (he's in love with Akane) turns into a piglet. And his dad turns into a panda.

It's a romantic comedy kind of thing and less serious than Inuyasha (although Inuyasha is still really funny).

I hope that helped. It's a really good series, what one would expect from Rumiko Takahashi-sensei.

Actually, Ranma's been on a "training journey" with his pop for the past 10 years, or roughly, left when he was 6. There's a little sidestory to that, which involves his mother, but it would be best to actually read/watch the show for that.

And not everyone is out for revenge against Saotome Ranma. In fact, there are as many suitors for him as enemies.

Uh, I've watched it in Spanish so it isn't strictly Japanese, but I think there are sutitled Japanese versions available for download. You can read the manga though. Viz is translating it and selling it.

And yes, it is funny ^_^. Everyone's after Ranma in both hate and love. You just gotta see it. If you want, I can scan from my Spanish comic versions, translate them and send them to you. It would be no problem.

Viz has licensed and been selling both the Ranma 1/2 anime and manga for quite some time now. There are 7 tv seasons worth, 1 ova set, and 2 movies. There are 32 volumes of the manga.

Far more crazy than Inuyasha, since it's more humor based than action (but there is lots of fighting too, since it's all about strange martial arts along with romantic comedy). "So Stupid It's Funny" is how I used to describe it, I believe.

There are some bare chests now and again, so if that offends you, you may want to skip some episodes...but it's nothing really graphic, and all in good fun.

Viz's english dub is also a good one (for a change in anime), and I recommend it, if English is more understandable than Japanese for you. The manga is also superb through and through.

    Definately one of Takahashi-Sama's masterpieces.
