    Hi guys,
    Long time no see. I have seen death and rebirth finaly and have to say it was a lil dissapointing, but nether the less it was good. My question is:
    What on earth is on shinjis hands when he is in the hospital with auska when she is in a coma type thing? Is it what I think it is?.

    OH exactly what I thought it was. When I saw it I would not believe that sensetive lil shinji would do that. Then I went "ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!"

    I once heard that the reason they put that scene in was because quite alot of the origenal fans thought Shinji was impotent... how they came to that conclusion i'll never know :s

    In a coma, he could take what he wanted.

    But a rape scene would just totally destroy any sympathy and/or appreciation for the kid.

    Hehe, I believe it's to show how pathetic Shinji has become. I mean, c'mon, it *was* the most pathetic thing he could have done short of it turning into hentai. You feel for him, in a bad way. Poor sucker.

    Awww you have to feel for the poor little bastard, he’s ****ed up beyond believe, ffs Freud and Bolby would have a field day with him (then again Freud would have a field day with anyone....).

    I think you're right though. He's meant to be a pathetic bastard in the movie. If he wasn't anything else, things woudl have gone much better. And, as we all know, that ain't Shinji.

    I wonder what the writers had in mind when they did that scene.

    And I still wonder what's the point of this scene in the movie, we ALREADY know Shinji's pathetic.

    I *thought* we covered all that already, luvweaver. And honestly, Anno was *livid* that he was "forced" into the movie by so many disappointed fans. That's why there's so much speculation about the final scene, where Asuka says, "I hate this feeling", or "I feel sick", or whatever. Anno hated the fact that he had to remake the ending, and make EoE so he kind of flipped us all off by making the whole movie savage.

    Don't say that it isn't. Because it is. First there's the hospital scene, then the attack on NERV by the UN, then Asuka's treatment to and from the Mass Units, *then* the UN killing everyone in NERV, to Misato, to Ritsuko, to Rei, to everyone else.

    Basically Anno was saying, "Fkck you all! Go home and think about *this*!"
