    RPG:Xenogears

    Shooter: Deus Ex

    Racing:Crash Team Racing

    Fighting:Its a tie between Dead or Alive 2 on PS2 and Street Fighter Alpha 3.

    These aren't necessarily "forever" as teh title suggests, but they are my current picks:

    RPG: Lunar: Silver Star Story: Complete
    First Person Shooter: No One Lives Forever
    Fighter: Marvel VS Capcom
    Racing: Does Twisted Metal: Black count? :p Didn't think so.

    RPG: Final Fantasy VI (for now)
    Adventure: Metal Gear Solid 2 (?)
    FPS: CounterStrike LAN parties! Probably Metroid when it comes out.
    Racing: GT3 A-Spec
    Fighter: MvC2 or Street Fighter III

    Well if its a game that will be forever best in my books it has to be, any pinball games.... but if you want games that'll probably die on me but is currently my fav then:

    RPG: FFX
    Fighter: MvC2
    FPS: S.W.A.T. 3
    Racing: GT3
    Misc: GTA3

    RPG: Privateer
    FPS: Deus Ex (yay!)
    fighting: Ranma Super Battle
    Tetris Type: Columns
    Platform/sidescroller: Commander keen 4 or Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure
    Action: Duke Nukem 1
    SpaceFlight: Privateer/Vegastrike/X-Wing (the original)
    FlightSim: Red Baron 1
    RTS: Warcraft 2/Starcraft/ORTC mod for starcraft (starwars mod)
    TurnBasedStrategy: Sword of Aragon (way old)/Warlords 1
    WarSim: Operation Flashpoint
    Pinball: Dave's Midnight Madness/Epic Pinball
    Racing: Super Mario Kart 64/Quake 3 rally
    (TuxRacer is close :) You are a penguin and race down the snow and ice, against the clock, sorta racing hehe)

    Hmmm, might as well get down to specifics like Otaru-sempai.

    Pinball: Super Mario World
    Flight Sim: Tokyo 747 (or something like that, you use a 747 instead of a jet...now that's a wierd arcade game)
    RTS: Starcraft (haven't played warcraft III yet)
    Puzzle: PAC-MAN!!! Especially the remix edition.
    Turn-Based: Do games like Ogre Battle count? If it does, then Tenchi Muyo!
    Space Fighter: R-Type III

    Otaru, I can partially agree on the Ranma Super Battle (Super Famicom, right?), because it's fun to play as the panda and school-dressed Akane! :D

    Shooter: GoldenEye (SNES)/Quake (PC ~ online multiplayer)

    Beat-em-up: Soul Calibur (DC)

    Action game: Metal Gear Solid (PS1)

    Racing game: Super Mario Kart (SNES)

    RTS: C&C and its many sequels (PC)

    RPG game: Secret of Mana (SNES)
    - SoM just outpips FFVII for its 3 player multi-tap madness. Ho Hum :)

    That mod finally got finished? I stopped watching its progress eons ago...hmm...where'd I put that Game CD again?

    the Ranma Super Battle is for SNES. You do get to play as the panda and school dressed Akane though :)

    BMS: No, it isn't finished. Playable version is out though, but you knew that. I like it partly for what it could become, if it ever finishes. Wishful thinking perhaps.

    and Super Battle rocks, all the way! but I have to go with Last Blade 2.

    I'd add more of my fave games here... but I haven't been playing any lately, the old clunker is wheezing lately

    Shooter: I dunno...there was a under water one but I forgot what it was called

    Racing: Chocobo Racing...Shining girl I agree its kawaii!

    Fighting: Dead or Alive 2, I love playing that one with Musashi :shy3:

    That conversation was hilarious. some paraphrasing of my own:

    Beirii: "FPS genre is stale, I need something new!"
    MO: "try Deus Ex"
    Beirii: "What makes Deus Ex superior in the FPS genre?"
    MO: "It's got RPG elements, and non-combat options, and, and..."
    Beirii: "But that sucks! I don't want to go sneaking around! I want to blast people with powerful weapons! Where's that bamboo pole I had crammed up my rectum?"

    That was so great.. after whining about how no fps games were different, he rejected Deus Ex because it sounded different. What a maroon.

    "Maroon" is an understatement for Beirii.

    And I'm glad the truck is fixed.

    RPG: Tough one. Ultima VII or Planescape: Torment. Probably VII. Wasteland's good, too. Argh, I've played too many RPG's in my lifetime!
    FPS: Another vote for Deus Ex, and it saves me from having to count it as another major player for best RPG!
    SpaceFlight: Well, I've only ever played Tie Fighter.
    RTS: Starcraft, if only for the things I've done with the Campaign Editor (Balgus Unleashed, Balgus in the Arena, Cash for Kills).
