    What Voltron Is.......

Voltron started out as a legend that protected the universe based out of the Planet Arus. The story goes that he fought against King Zarkon's eveil witch Hagar and she casted a spell on him which she had hoped would destroy him. Instead, it sent him crashing to the planet surface in the force of five robotic lions. Each Lion crashed in a different part of the planet.

It came to past that Voltron was needed once more to combat the forces of the Doom Empire. Earth sent a team of space explorers to rediscover the secrets of Voltron and try to use that to fight King Zarkon.

The team consisted of 5 explorers: Keith, Lance, Sven, Hunk, and Pidge. Each would take one of the lions and soon learn the secrets of how Voltron would be able to turn the tides on their common enemy.

Voltron was split into five lions:

Black Lion--buried in a statue in front of the Castle of Lions, piloted by Keith--the team leader.

Blue Lion--buried in the mote around the castle, piloted by Sven at first, then later by Princess Alura(sp).

Red Lion--buried in the planets core, piloted by Lance

Green Lion--buried in the forest of planet Arus, piloted by Pidge.

Yellow Lion--buried in the desert, piloted by Hunk.

    More to follow,

Sven---jump in with any facts that I know I may have missed.

In my own opinion, there was nothing better than the classic Voltron from the 80's.

They gave us two really good story-lines to follow with the Lion Force and the Vehicle Team.

I could never really get into the who computer animated version. It looked very fake at times with the characters design. I think they should have kept it in the cartoon form and just worked it from there.

    There's a new 3d version? That's news to me.
I still have some old Voltron anuals up in my attic, must go look for them.
Anybody else think that Power Rangers is a complete rip off of Voltron? I've said that to people before but all I get back is "What's Voltron?". :sigh:

There is a Voltron 3D (third dimension)--I believe you can find more of those episodes that the classic.

As for Power Ranger, they just seem to follow the patterns set by some older anime. Actually--Voltron was inspired by the series Battle of the Planets--The concept of having team hero's working together instead of just one main character spawned many action team series.
