yes, but it has to do something the cpu temp.

My question is: If the room where is the computer is, is hot about 30 to 27c , does it effact the computer performance.

You see, when you put that lovely little CD in the drive, and read from it, it spins around and around as a tiny laser reads from it. That is what causes the media to heat up. Your CPU should be nowhere near there, and even if it was, I doubt it would be running hot enough to affect your shiny circular disc. ^^

Nope. It stands for Central Processing Unit, and is the Core of your comp.

I just installed CpuIdle last night and found my cpu temp went down 10-15 degrees when the program turns on. The strange thing is how fast it goes down, it's like it's instant. Which leads me to wonder if it is actually cooling it down rather than fiddling with computer settings..

The air coming from my heatsink and fan does seem cooler but it may just be a placebo thing going on there @_@

Certainly not impossible.. When I exit a program that was taking 100% CPU, the temperature drops immediately. It only drops a couple degrees, but that's because with water cooling load temp isn't as much higher than idle temp as it would be with air cooling. Air cooling often has differences that large.

So yeah, I would say it is entirely possible that your temps drop that rapidly. Switch off the CPU (what CpuIdle does, to over simplify it), and all that heat will bleed away pretty fast.

I got a program called Core Center, it gives me the cpu temp.

I am using AMD2600+ and my cpu temp is between 50 to 52 degrees celcius.. 2fans in my case.

I was thinking of bying a new case that has 3 fans. but when i heard that guy said:
I changed my mind but then my cousin has AMD3000+ and a case with 3fans his cpu temp is 42 degrees celcius..

so i don't think this is the average for Athlons :)

Pfft. XD On the PC, it ranges from 28 to 40 degrees Celcius. That's around 82 to 105 Farenheit (whoo! I'm learning to use Celcius now!). Sometimes it goes up a wee bit more. Weird. x_x

cool.. :D what is your processor?

you are right... but if you are using AMD2600+ or AMD2800+ your cpu temp will be 52c. what i am trying to say that the average cpu temp of Athlons is not 52c because the heat sink for AMD3000+ and AMD 3200+ is diffrent then the other AMD right? so AMD 3000 and 3200 cpu temp is around 40c.

well I got my processor down to 42c with a program SABER sent me. It's like the one That guy! has I think.. the fans don't do much(take a break) when the computer is idle, but this program kicks the fans off their couches and makes them do their job.. anyways ha ha .. hard to explain..

    Athlon 2600+ = 256K L2 @ 2250Mhz
    Athlon 2800+ = 512K L2 @ 1833Mhz

    there's your temp diferrences

I'm confused. Are you saying that if I had a higher cpu chip, not a 2200+ my computer could be cooler? these differences.. the better 2800+ @ 1833Mhz, its a better processor as well that the fan doesnt need to run as hard at 1833? sogh..

    erm, correction 1833 = 2500+, 2000Mhz = 2800+
but still... the 2800+ is faster than the 2600+ in some places ( I trully can't say ALL places due to higher clocks)
