Anime What is your opition on dark anime

I brought a anime encyclopedia. I was looking up anime when I came across one called "cool devices." It was dark and really bad from what I read. Don't get me wrong I love anime. But in life they is good and bad I guess. What your feeling on the subject!!!

 

Dark for darkness' sake can be pretty dumb, but some dark anime can be quite good. Serial Experiments Lain and Boogiepop Phantom spring to mind.

 

If it has a good plot or storyline than it's fine with me.

 

I agree with Chi, dark anime is fine as long as the characters and storyline are good.

 

I think most animes and mangas have varrying amounts of darkness in them, but whether U like it or not depends on your taste.
I like animes to have a little darkness in them, you know, just for variety, but I get a little freaked out if things start to get all gothic.

 

Yeah, there's a difference between the dark of Cool Devices (dark because it's, I don't know, going for the tentacle-rape type of porn maybe) and the dark of Gasaraki, Lain, and Boogiepop Phantom. I personally really like the latter, usually because of the complex plots and themes that show up. So yeah, Chi and MO have probably already summed up my opinions pretty well.

 

There is anime and manga for every mood a humen gets so i dont mind any dark anime i am sure there is pepole who digg that tipe
