what the heck is a reverse blade sword???

    it shouldnt be...if anything it should bve lighter...if its heavier than your katana then it will through your swordstyle off a bit. because its lighter or the same weight your used to using both and therefore adjustments are easily made using both katana and bokken.

    Not enough difference to effect my style... but still heavier. Cherry Oak is obviously much different from a live blade... and my bokken is thicker than the average katana.

    Only a few can do thatin japan now days. and yeah theya are wiked sharp they were ment for soilders they could do a clean cut and yeah

    well a sword as part of the armory in japan stopped with World War 2. they are still made as gifts to people in high power but usually mae as replicas...

    on an interesting note although a Sakabatou does not exist in daito form there are Kubikiri tanto and wakizashi with the edge on the inside curvature...they are not for combat rather they seem to be for beheading opponents after duels...

    thats interesting and about the bokken and katana being different weights for me my bokkenand katana are about the same size but the weight is different jsut a tad. My bokken is lighter than my katana...bu tthen i guess cherry wood is heavier than white oak

    yeah it should actually be lighter...but definaltey take into account the bokken is made of cheery wood so it will be pretty heavy...but i think it would be better if the bokken was lighter yes?

    that was a tad harsh...we all ask stupid questions from time to time just cut his some slack...i mean if he had just heard the word "reversed blade sword" it could me a lot of things...when someone refers to swords there is a tendency to think of European swords which are doubled edged so a "reversed" blade sword would have made sense which is what i think may have happened here...
