What the hell is going on

    What happened, i've never heard of this series untill a couple of weeks ago and then it's already multiple animes,mangas and games

    where did this thing come from and more to the point could someone give me a decent summary of the plot

    As for you not hearing it, it's not really surprising. There's lots of anime that other people watch that other people don't. Like...Galaxy Angel. You'd swear it was the biggest thing ever in Japan, but, here, no one really knows of it...sadly.

    Also, remember that .hack//SIGN came out in 2002, so it's been circulated rather well lately.

    Anyway, .hack isn't just anime/manga/games. It's also a novel, where the World started, I believe. There's also some OVA that came out, with the .hack games.
