If you were able to live in another time period, would you? And what Year/Era would you want to live in?

I would either want to live in the late 1800's to early 1900's. (Around the 1920's) Mainly Because they had awesome styles of clothing and Arcitecture. I love the old Victorian houses. The creepy gothic era kinda look. And I love the old Rag Time/Swing music.

I'd say in the future...hmm...maybe the year 3000:p my reason is that technology will be far advanced, and it would just be cool to see all the new inventions that've been made.

For all you know Earth could be an frozen irradiated ball at that time. ;)

Anyway... tough question. The Renaissance could be very interesting, as would Athens during the time of Socrates and Plato. 1914 through to 1950 or so are actually quite exciting time periods (horrifying in many regards but exciting). 1950s I dunno... there IS a brief period where its actually rather idyllic but I dunno... 1960s would be fun, 1970s would be ok I guess, 1980s WOULD RULE!!!

But all in all I'm content in our time as is.

Its a hard choice, I enjoy, like neph, the renaissance, ancient greek society, and the 1950s.
But for me it would have to be the 60s. Year of the cheap beer, mod, hippie, and free love. and who could beat the great music?
But right now im happy as well, I dont really think I could live with out my internet! I would definitely miss hugh grant as well! <3

I think i would like to live in very dark time, like middle ages 1000-1500 in Russia, western europe or Japan, and to be a princess or a knight or a samurai. Yeah, that would be a cool life! All we do in our time is watch anime and surf the internet:) We need to get some real life!!

Yeah, the Renaissance would have to be it for me. I would have to be a member of the upper classes though, preferably the Medici so that I could have contact with the great artists of the time.

First i'd ask for a "FutureTV". THEN I'd choose.

But of the epochs in time i'd chose to VISIT,

    I'd like:

    * couple hundred million years in the future. Just to see what cool species are in the planet.

    * Year 2032. To compare with my futurist fanfic and make the appropriate corrections ^_^

    * 50 years from now. Just to check out if a decent government finally has been established in my country. And yes, to finally see who killed JFK. [EDIT] What am I saying! Going for some documents? No way. I'd go to the past and stop the guys who would kill JFK! Hmmm I hope that has benefits for my country, heh [/EDIT]

Don't pout. You're REALISTIC, and you like your life. That's much more than many of us can say. SMILE! :D
    * Or maybe the past, perhaps altering some story and preventing bad guys from winning elections - hey Shrub! No more Iraq for you, heh? ^_^ ahhhh how good is to fantasize.

    * Hmmm maybe about 5 years in the future, to take the source code of all those horribly-slow open source projects, and bring them back to the present and make some things RUSH.

Was actually thinking about this for a while but then really couldn't come up with anything because, well, another question came to mind, so allow me to ask this and then I'll reply:

By "live in another time period"... do you mean as if someway we were magically transported to said time period... or, if we were born and raised into that time period?

Ancient Rome, about the time that Caesar came to power would be my top choice. It doen't matter if I was born and raised there or magically sent there, that still would be my destination.

That is, if I knew I wouldn't be a slave or a common peasant. If I wouldn't be taken into a family of the middle class, then forget it. I'll stay here.

I would like to live in either the Meiji Era, or The Sengoku Jidai time period, or next August 12 ;)

Meiji Era: To get to see my ancestors, and use some kendo skills! :D

Sengoku Jidai: *I know Inuyasha is not real* But the time of the Oni's and stuff! Besides, you still can use swords

August 12: I get to celebrate my B-day, and I'm finaly out of that accward age... 13... :D

I might want to live in the future, cause well, I'd like to see if what I'll be when I'm 25

Meh...I'm happy where I am, thanks all the same ^_^

I'd only like to visit a different time period, not live there. For example, to visit the Victorian period woud be fascinating, but like Bloodberry said, the hygiene would be terrible! And the 1960s would be amazing to fly through, but the hippiness might get a bit scary after a while!

Oh, I don't know. I mean assuming we're magically transported to the 60s, we could take advantage of our future knowledge to pimp ourselves off as super-psychics and pull in a fortune. That, or impress enough hippies to build an impressive harem.

Out of all the places in time the one place i would like to go back to is Egypt, just as the great pyramids where completed (or at least one of them). The fact that they took a lifetime to complete is amazing, but the thing that really attracts me is to see the pyramids with the lime stone still shiny and new. That would be an amazing site, just watching those buildings shine in the sun.

I also wouldn't mind having a look at Edo Japan. But not as much as Egypt.

feudal japan. not sure about the time period though. i'd reather it be before the meiji restoration, though, i really prefer blades to guns. i know they had guns before then, they just werent as popular or advanced.

This is a good question, because it makes you think about other times compared to your own.I would probly pick the Mid. Evil times or 1950-1970 I would pick the Mid Evil cause it would be nice to see all the old old cloths people wore but times back then were hard.No computers god I couldnt live we got are computer fixed and it took a week I had a mental breakdown lol.I would pick the 1950-70 caus people were layed back tho in the 70's there was a lot of protesting. So now I really dont know I think we live in a good time era now(tho 911 and the war suxed) but other than that its a nice time to live in but we never know what lays ahead.!.
