Food What What Is It?!?!?!

i bet most people have gone to a crappy mexican restaurant and have had fried ice cream.
BUT WHAT IS IT?!?!?
i know if you try to fry ice cream, well it turns into a grasy milkshake.

I've tried it before actually and it was pretty good. I never knew that they actually fried the ice cream along with the outer coating though. I thought the coating was fried then put on top of a scopp of ice cream @_@

 

I think maybe ill make it. just gotta find the ingredients. Im just worried it will completely melt!

 

Yum. . . . fried icecream is so good. I found it quite bamboosling myself really. ^^;; Even if it does melt. . . . .eat it with a spoon. . . .its still Fried o_o;; that sounds like something i would do. . . If i tried to make it. . . .it would prolly come out as a flaming ball of sugar.

 

Heheheh, I heard about fried ice cream a while ago, but I didn't know that Emeril made his own recipe with all that extra stuff. I think with more plain recipes, you add whatever flavor/crust/toppings you want, make sure the ice cream is as frozen rock-hard as possible, :shy:, and deep fry it in oil that has to be hot enough so that the outside of the ice cream hardens like a shell (the inside will still be frozen). You get a similar effect when you deep fry food that you haven't defrosted yet.... the inside doesn't get cooked!

 

I love fried ice cream. There's a Mexican restaurant near my house, and the put honey on it to keep the cornflakes on. :anime: It's sooo good!
