Recreation what would happen if...

alright
i am just curios
what would happen on the boards if one of the members on the boards died and nobody on the boards knew them in real life died what would happen?
would people get pissed because they just stopped showing up? would someone care?
any idea on what would happen?
just thought i'd put this out here and no i mean absolutly nothing by this i am just curios

 

Clearly they'd vanish into thin air. Never posting again, never being online again. Having no way of knowing for sure, all we could assume is that they went on with their lives and didn't have any wish to stay here. (Quite the opposite of what would really have happened, eh?)

I'd say it depends on who it is. I'll admit there are people around here I wouldn't miss too terribly, and others who I wouldn't even notice, but for the most part, I'd get wondering, and I'd be curious. I might worry, if it were someone I knew decently well.

But there's really nothing you can do, is there? You have no way of knowing.

But in any case, if I stop posting out of nowhere, you can be sure that that's what happened, because nothing else will keep me from being here. :3

 

I imagine it would depend on who it was.... If Neph disappeared, I imagine that people would wonder... same goes for anyone else that posts reasonably good post in quantity. If it was some nobody then who would really think twice about them?

 

Yes yes, because we all know if you dissapeared (again ) we'd all be wonderin' where the heck you went. I guess you're right on the account on there's nothing you can do (unless of course you personally knew the person, then I'd be at their doorstep). I, like everyone has said, if somone like Izzy, Shen, Teddz, Neph, Cloud, or Baka (haven't seen him in a while... :glazed: ) I would be a little suspicious. I want everyone to know, if I dissapear for more than 3 weeks, accounting for the fact that you'll all miss me to death, I will be dead. Or grounded. Pick one of the two that you would like to think.

 

He's playing World of Warcraft now; he may as well be dead.

I think that is interesting. I would probably notice a few gone. My computer is always running and whoever I got on MSN I may notice. Unless the person was a RL friend or a regular poster no one would notice. Sad thing to say.

 

Have we all gone emo here? Maybe we should simply be thankful that nothing like that has ever happened... as far as we know...

Whoa... isn't that the whole point of this thread? That's deep. What if someone DID pass on and all that's left is thier account, and we don't have any idea?!

I guess the same thing would happen to anyone else who shows up for a few posts and leaves without taking care of thie account. Thier posts would remain and we would all go on as ignorant as before.

Except maybe if Neph left. There would be a brief funeral service followed by a cocktail party! I claim dibs on his blindly loyal fangirls!!

A forum this size? I'd almost be surprised if it *hadn't* happened. More than once, even. It's kind of a sad thought, but considering the rate at which people die on this planet, it has to happen sooner or later. The only real question is if it was someone we knew and held dear, or if it was some just-registered user that we don't know.

 

I'd like everyone to carve my name on the keyboard. So everytime they don't see the letters " t, e, d, z ", feel emo.

what could we do about it?
a lota people(like me) wouldn't not be missed too terribly but some of the posters(top posters, long time members, and others who just standout) would be missed a lot

I see. Most of the people I know just kinda fade away when they're immersed in that game. I just play Guild Wars.

I almost died.. though i was not posting at the time of my accident.. but the fact is.. Most ppl dont really bother to find out what happens to others when they go missing..

 

I once told my family if I died I wanted them to visit some sites and tell everyone.

It was like, this one, ADGBC, and livejournal.

Besides that I just look at the Nieman Marcus site and various guitar / cello sites.

And one forum, but I know everyone on it IRL.
