Inu-Yasha What's the Deal w/ Rin?

I was just curious about these pics I've seen of Fluffy and Rin together.. I haven't read the whole manga series, and just got into the show about 2 months ago, so I'm still kind of new; but, I was just wondering if someone would explain to me why Sesshoumaru obviously takes up w/ this little girl? As cold as he seems right now, I can't really see him putting up much w/ the burden of a child...

I think it'd be cool and everything, if he started to show a soft side.. But I was just wondering what brought it about(?)

Sesshoumaru is seriously wounded in a fight with Inuyasha, where Inuyasha uses one of Tessaiga's special youkai-killing attacks on Sesshoumaru. Only Tenseiga (Sesshoumaru's healing sword, given to him by his father) saves him. However, he's incapacitated in the forest for a while. This is where we meet Rin. She finds Sesshoumaru, and though somewhat scared of him at first, she brings him food and tries to help him. When she's killed by Kouga's wolves later, Sesshoumaru and Jaken find her body in the woods. Sesshoumaru decides to use Tenseiga to save Rin, and she's been following him ever since.

I thought it was so crazy, yesturday, after I'd posted this and then watched Inuyasha on CN last night, and it was that episode that you JUST described. I really like that ep, though.. Rin turned out to be SO cute.

But why does he continue to put up with her following him?

And off topic... holy geez did you see him smile? That was scary.

 

I think there's no solid reason why he puts up with Rin told in the story. But I think thats a quality Shessoumaru has, how he keeps things to himself. It just seems so him.

 

Could it be a touch of sentimentality by the "oh-so-cold" one? Or maybe sympathy for what happened to her after she'd tried to help him?

I think she could help Sesshoumaru understand humans more and not just think of them as something so disposable. Maybe even help him see why Inuyasha cares for them..

Anybody here think Fluffy and IY might one day "kiss and make up" and actually act like more *loving* or at least *tolerable* brothers?

Um...can someone tell me if Rin told Sesshomaru her name or did he name her or something? I remember that the villagers said her name, but I'm not sure. Please spoil that one little part for me. When did she start talking?

 

Hey Kagome_rocks009, thats a really good question. I would also like to know that too. As for sesshomaru and the lil girl, i just love it! I would like to see more of them and im so sure that she will learn to talk and when's she older, they will fall in love...! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I think Seshomaru(sp) named her, and luckily got it really close. Cause on the show they called her Rika. So Shesshomaru(I'll get the sp down later) probably got sick of calling he girl sooner or later.

Thats a good question, why he tolerates her. I really dont see him as the father or big brother type. Now, I know he is a bog brother, but not a very good one. In InuYasha's case any way. What I mean is, I dont see him as the...well, I dont know a good word for it. Protective, and fun big brother type. Maybe they feature boyfriend type, but not the big brother type.

Rin talked? I didn't think she would beacue, in the show, tehy called her mute. But any way, you get what I'm, saying.

I think that InuYasha and big bro would some day respect each other, I cant imagin them actually liking each other. But I really think that some day they will find some common ground.

Yeah, Rin talks. I go to websites about her and there's always this background information that she found Sesshomaru and cared for him a bit and now she follows him around. When we first see her, Rin doesn't talk but later, she just can't stop. But that's all I know about her. That was another spoiler for me before I saw the episode. I have it taped and the villagers say, "I knew it! I knew you were the culprit, Rin!" Then they start beating her. I've seen that thing so many times, because Inuyasha is not on Adult Swim yet. If you're talking about not in the Adult Swim, then never mind. I don't know how to see Sesshomaru, but I really hope he'll take very good care of her ([another spoiler] except I know she'll get kidnapped a few times).

 

Rin isn't mute. She hasn't spoken since she saw her parents killed before her eyes. She starts talking later on.

I really think Rin is adorable and I love the way she follows around sesshomaru. Did anyone see the episode where she gets kidnapped and sesshomaru goes to save her. I think she brings out a nicer side of him. He always seems amused by her and ALMOST smiles sometimes. yeah i know weird.
