The most I've ever done is about 16 hours into training Squall and Quistis to level 30... 'cause its so EASY to level up in that game. 1000 experience. Every level.

Eh? I don't get it...what do you mean? But if you're asking I guess the best I can do is answer...I level up my people all the way up for all FF games. Well, usually. Especially when I first play it. If it's unexpected, then it's better to be overprepared than to not be. :D

Oh, THAT's what you meant! I probably trained my FFVI characters the longest. That's because it's great fun if everybody's at level 99. Though, I only levelled up about 6 of 'em...it still took me better than 8 hours. In terms of training EVERYTHING, FFVII took the longest. Cuz of all the materia you have...it takes LONG to do so.

    About 6 hours...

before i realized that ZSNES had the "fast forward button"

    :p

Then i spent another 3 hours getting all my characters from level 25 to level 62.

This is something i don't like of FF games... overtraining can get you to boredom and dullness. It would be cool if you didn't have the chance to train so much, so the game would become more challenging.

    well

Wow! 8 hours to get to level 100? Thats interesting... mine are at level 20, and are still in the world of balance, after getting knocked off the airship by Mr. Chupon.
    Oh well.

Hmmmm...When you leave Timber, I went to the Rosh-something forrest and fought the Ochu's. (I wanted to get the Mug ability for Diablos before the Laguna Dream in Esthar.) That took some hours.

the longest that i have trained in a FF game?! maybe FF3 on my super nintendo, i love training on that game, its also fun to have a super team. the charaters can only get to lv. 99 but still its really fun to go in the T-rex forest and fight them, its pretty easy to do, also, gem box and EXP. egg , have vanish and doom. you get like, 8700exp for one T-rex and 16000exp for a bracosaur. and if your lucky then you get an 'economizer' from them. it took a while because i trained the people fighting hoovers untill they had 5000hp, then i went to the forest, it took me about 50 hours to train all of them up.

I spent around 20 hours training everyone in FF8 to level 100 on the 'island closest to hell' just before I attempted to go in the time portal to Ultamacia's castle. It was absolutely impossible at first, I lost to every monster there. But when you're level is around 70, you start to ease through these guys and one attack from anyone can almost instantly kill them at level 100.

Squall's limit break - Leonheart is very impressice btw, I can pull that out around 3 times in a row using aura.

Well Final fantasy VII was the longest for me... about 40 -50 hours to get them to maximum (Unfortunatly i did it at the start & got Aeris at level 50.... kinda a waste of time

Others... meh, didnt level up often if at all, there making the games too easy now

I don't spend time training characters except for Aeris because I want to make sure that she has her last limit break before she goes off and leaves my Aeris filled heart and make me cry everytime she dies on that game. :( Oh my tormented soul.

Okay, scratch that, I have been training characters now because I want to be able to defeat Ultimate and Omega Weapon in FF8. So I have spent fight after fight on the Islands of Heaven and Hell raising everyone to level 100 and getting everyones ultimate weapons. I don't know how many hours I spent...

Too long. Selphie from lv-12 to lv-100
but then again each exp lv is only 1000 exp
    its a joke really.
this and the refining abilitys are the reason FF8 is so easy.
all in all it really only took about 4 hours.

The longest? Just leveling up? I'd have to say 96 hours, for Final Fantasy. I was leveling Tina, and trying to get all of her magics. As for just plain longest, I once spent 168 hours leveling my Arc the Lad characters.
