    Shingetsutan Tsukihime. It's my favourite.

I've seen a lot.. Hellsing and Vampire Hunter D/BloodLust are great as well.

LOL. why? you picked your name because you loved the show, not the other way around. haha. I'll name my daughter Arcueid and the other one Ciel. They'll be biased if they like the show.

The animation in Blood was very good, and I liked the cross of english and japanese, but I didn't like its story as much as other vampire shows.

Hard to imagine much topping Tsukihime. Just so unexpected to have a vampire in a Land's End Sweater. I'm not a huge fan of superficial gothism, or dressing in black (Witch Hunter Robin seemed to be a show about wearing black), and Tsukihime managed an incredible atmosphere of gothic horror without everyone looking like they stumbled out of Hot Topic.

I guess what I am saying is that I love the way they pulled off the atmosphere while bucking a few trends.

Throw in some really interesting relationship development and it's a winner.

Figured I'd break up the coven of mods around this thread and say Hellsing is my favorite... and only.

I've only seen Hellsing and Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust, so I can only pick these two as my favorites.

There was also an episode in Cyber City Oedo where one of the hero's had to fight a vampire... It was pretty gore, but what did you expect from Studio Madhouse :p

Hellsing, though Vampire Hunter D and Blood the Last Vampire are pretty cool as well.

I'll go along with the first few posts and go with Shingetsutan Tsukihime. Even though it isn't an anime about vampires expressly.

If you're talking about anime that the vampires are the main characters, then it'd have to be Hellsing.

Hellsing. Its one of my favortie Animes. Tsukihime is also excelent. And I agree with you, MamiyaOtaru, it is nice the way the got away from the gothic thing, sometimes I think its more realistic, to think if there were vampires amungst us, I dont think they would all wear goth clothing styles. I dont find WHR to be that gothic trend.

I also really enjoyed the Nightwalker series. Shido was so unapethetic, which is odd in vampire animes.

I would go for Shingetsutan Tsukihime and Vampire Hunter D since they're the only vampire Animes I have seen as far.

never been really atracted to vampire type anime. The only thing I've see is the miniseries Hitsuji no Uta (Sheep's Song). This is nothing like Hellsing or any kind of gothic fantasy adventure, it's like what if your school friend started getting cravings for blood. basically ordinary people who are vampires and dont always know it. its very dark, grey colours, slow moving, more like a movie, just set in modern Japan. Cool, plus I had to stop watching for a while when this girl got a retractable craft knife out.
