    I have been learning Japanese for about a year now. However. I have only learned it on my own free time, and the way I please. Granted, I have memorized tons 'n tons of phrases and such. However! I have totally ignored all of the three writing systems. Is there somewhere recommendable that I should begin with those three? Or. All at once?

    Thanks! :)

    I think you should start with Hiragana then move onto Katakana. And lastly Kanji.
    (That's how I did it :sweat: )

    Yeah, that's how we learn it in Japanese class. It's sort of in order of importance too, in that order. Once you learn them, read lots of stuff written in them so you can put em to good use. And write using it instead of Romanized letters from then on.

    Hiragana is the first order of business i think...but it may help to learn Katakana at the same time. but as Mrpig pointed out its bloody useless. it has no real use other than foreign words.ad for the most part you wont be writing foreign words.

    Um, definately Hiragana for the first step thingie ^-^...then katakana and then kanji ^^;

    Ho hum, I'll have to disagree with you on the "useless katakana" thing though... :sweat2: True they are utterly useless unless for foreign words BUT if you're somehow planning to be an engineer or the such, you might want to learn because almost all car parts are in katakana and yeah...
