    Hi, my name is Uncle_keni.

I think the strongest sword is both of them but, if they were both used together they would be the ultimante wepon.

Tetsaiga: a sword forged from inuyasha's and sesshomaru's father. It is used for attack purposes.

Tenseiga: a sword that is forged from sesshomaru's and inuyasha's fathers fang. it ins used for healing purposes.

The Tetsaiga if used correctly can slay 100 demons at once with one stroke.

The Tenseiga if used correctly can revive 100 humans in one stroke.

Well You're right in a way but....
Tensaiga can revive 100 demons in one stroke, not 100 humans. But in the case of Rin it shows it can revive humans as well.

Tessaiga, but none can rival the might of a Jedi Knight and his lightsaber.

Yeah, but if Tessaiga cuts the Jedi Knight in half, the lightsaber's useless.

lol... I just had the image of Inuyasha fighting against Darth Vader.....

The Tetsusaiga (how do you spell it anyway) and the Tensaiga (dunno how to spell that either) were purposely made so that Inuyasha and Sesshomaru couldn't fight against one another. Obviously that little plan didn't work very well, but basically, neither is stronger. Inuyasha can't kill Sesshomaru while he has Tensaiga (this is demonstrated once but I don't remember when), and without a useable sword Sesshomaru might have a difficult time killing Inuyasha when Inu has Tetsusaiga. Of course Tokijjin changes that a bit...

I can't spell sword names very well can I? :anime:

Ahh, who can? (besides Rumiko herself, I mean) But technically, the Tetsusaiga is the strongest because it can slay 100 whatevers. No one really knows how many things besides demons the Tensiaga can heal. But I like 'em both! :catgirl:

Tessaiga can kill 1000 youkai with a single slash when used at full power. Tenseiga can raise 1000 youkai from the dead when used at full power. Tenseiga also kills undead things (raises them to death, perhaps?) as Sesshoumaru has demonstrated. It can also bring non-youkai back from the dead; Rin is a prime example.

The two swords are evenly matched in power, it is just the application of that power that differs. You can see that the swords are ineffective weapons against each other early on in the series--Tenseiga saves Sesshoumaru from a head-on Kaze no Kizu.

    hmm...
    1 swing=100 deaths
    another swing=those deaths come back...

so it really comes down to who can really swing faster....either wise id say the swords are even.

why dont they forge both swords into one nice Darth Maul lightsaber-style sword that can revive allies and kill enemies at the same time? sheesh.

hasnt kagome ever thought of bringing a gun from the future to help in the futile times? thatd be interesting....

    Inu: whats that metal thing?
    Kagome: its an Ak-47

lol i sorta wondered myself why Kagome doesn't try to get her hands on some more destructive weapons, but then I remembered you need a license to carry a gun, and this is Kagome we're talking about here. Not exactly the first person I'd figure to have a gun license. But maybe you don't need one in Japan?

Basically they're both equal in strength, though I think the Tensaiga is more useful myself, especially if partnered with another destructive sword (like Tokijjin). Any sword can kill things, and even though the Tetsusaiga can kill LOTS of things, how many swords have you heard of that can bring them BACK from the dead? Or basically make you impossible to kill? That's one powerful sword. Still, in terms of strength, I'd say they're both equal.

Gun permits actually are required in Japan (or something similar to them, anyway), and they're incredibly hard to get. There's a reason that most murders in Japan seem to be committed with things like kitchen knives....

That would be the first reason why Kagome wouldn't be toting heavy firepower to Inuyasha's time. She doesn't have access to it, and I doubt she knows how to use anything of that nature anyway. Heck, she didn't even really know how to shoot a bow when the series started....

Gun license and Kagome's training aside, who says that heavy power weapons would even work in feudal Japan? Yes, Kagome brings things back with her like food, medicines, and her bike, but none of these things operate with high technological sophistication. Guns are more advanced, and who knows what time travel would do to them. Also, where would Kagome get more ammo if she ran out?

Now that I've digressed to answer questions and put in my thoughts, we should probably get back on topic. *sweatdrops*

Let's see Kagome bring a whole load of butter knives to Inu-Yasha then. Yeah, I could see it. Little Shippo building houses out of them, Sango throwing them at Miroku, Inu-Yasha picking his teeth with them, and Kagome standing above them all with a huge sweatdrop rolling down her face. lol That'd be great!

Kagome: Hah! Fear the power of my butter knife!
Inu: Oh. You mean my toothpick? I wondered where that'd gone.

But back to swords. Now that I really look at the situation, you probably wouldn't want either at your throat, so I'd say they're even.

LOL I pictured that scene in my mind...that was great!

Actually I'd very much like to have Tensaiga at my throat if I were in trouble, and even if I weren't it couldn't do anything to me.

Who said that Inu-Yasha would kill the Jedi first?

Anyways, it's probably about fighting preferences.
The tetsusaiga(is that how you spell it?) is for more of a offensive gain.
But the Tensaiga(Sesshy's sword) is more for a defensive gain seeing as it can revive 100 demon to back you up.
But the tetsusaiga can kill those 100 demons

But both can simply block each other's attacks and parry.

    And what are youkai?

Youkai is the word that Viz and most of the other translation groups translate to "demon."

They don't fall under the same category as Western demons do, however. If anything, they're more like the Sidhe (elves, fairies) than actual demons. I believe youkai technically means supernatural being.

Well that explains something then. I always wondered what, if youkai means demon, yasha means (since everyone says Inuyasha=dog demon). I assume that yasha is probably a less vague meaning of the word?

I never even considered the possibility that Sesshomaru could revive demons to back him up...I suppose that COULD come in handy. But he doesn't seem the type to do that anyway, I think he'd rather fight his own battles.

That's pretty funny. She could barly hold an arrow b/c she was afraid, let alone a gun. But it's GREAT, i'd pay money to see that. Well maybe not, but sti;ll it's funny. Well I'd say both swords are just as powerful of eachother. It heals and kills. Kills your enemys, saves your loved ones. Either way they are both handy :catgirl: *does Jakie Chan move, but messes up b/c I'm not him, and walks away blushing and laughing at myself. For shame SweetAsuka

So now what do we talk about.....

I might be able to answer you question on the meaning of Inu-Yasha.

Inu technically means dog and they even have a breed from japan called Inu-something (can't remember). I think that Yasha does translate somewhat to demon.

But why couldn't Tensaiga hurt you? It hurts other people.

I personally think the Tensaiga is stronger. yes, the Tessaiga can kill 100 demons in one sword swipe, but the Tensaiga can revive 100 souls from the dead in one swing. killing is something we can all do one way or another with many options in how to do so. but reviving is something none of this earth can do, it is not a power given to all.

I think that the Tetsusaiga and Tenseiga are evenly matched. Their powers are very strong when used for the correct purpose.
