Music Who has most influenced your musical taste?

I realised lately most of the CDs Ive bought have been influenced by anime. I even bought Duran Duran's Greatest after watching Speed Grapher which uses Girls On Film as the opening theme. It was a bargain for £5 ($9) considering price of CDs in UK.

Apart from that I think I've found my own taste in music, although I still like stuff like 60/70s soul influenced by my mother and classic 70s rock from my dads stuff and older friends. I hardly ever listen to radio or watch MTV etc.

 

Parents, and there's a member on this board who never posts named "Meshuggah" who got me into metal, which is what I spend the vast majority of my time listening to.

Also, my Music Appretiation teacher has showed me more than a few cool jazz musicians and classical composers.
