I know what you mean. I have one real diary, which was a present from a friend. Then I have a lot of misc. entries written in a lil DBZ notebook (actually I just use that for story ideas), and on folder paper in a special section of my school binder. I also have an online journal, but it's not a mainstream one like Live Journal or Xanga. (There's more to having a great journal than free image hosting...ooh lookie I can put Chii in my background! Screw that.)

Some people I personally know use online journals mostly for telling their friends what's going on. It's interesting how people open up so much when the trend started. I just don't like how the huge Xanga hype came; cuz to me it really was hype since most of the people I know who jumped on it absolutely suck at writing (for an audience). The only thing that makes their entries so interesting is that they rant and snap about issues, which proves to get their friends' attention when they're involved in the stuff talked about. Mentally speaking, their online journals are kinda like an extension of a group conversation with their friends, with the writer being front and center. But for me, my own online diary is way deeper than some day to day soapbox for friends to feel sorry about me. Some say mine captures that poetic, coffee-shop artistic mood that a real, paper-written diary holds; that's cuz when I write in a journal, I automatically make my entries flow like prose. Well, I don't like to dilute mine with cliche "today-I-went-to-school-got-pissed-went-to-work-went-home" trivia that most people start off with, and bore their readers with since they don't even make it interesting.

I have many book journals, but I'm horrible when it comes to actually writing in them. I'm trying to do better though. I also have a blog, but it gets updated only slighty more frequently than my actual journals.

Maybe it's because I don't think my life is all that interesting?

I had a journal once. But in the end i stopped writing in it because
a.)I could never think of anything ot say.
b.)I never had anything constructive to say.
c.)I'm not a gothic poet. (i.e somebody who whines constantly in bad poetry about how pathetic my existance is)

So in the end im glad to not have it.

The whole fricken world is my journal man. Well, all the bits that are paper. All my books and all that crap are stricken with a blight of inky scribbled thoughts and doodles. I don't keep a journal formaly, nothing that interesting ever happens. My random thoughts do suffice.
