Video Games Who played Tales of Destiny??

    its a really cool game...if u played it then tell which of the characters is ur favorite??and did u like the storyline??
    and if u want.. rate it
    I'll give it 8.5/10 because it was 2-D

    I've got a ROM of it, but I never really got around to playing too much, what with PS2 and all. From my limited experience, I'd have to agree with your rating. It's pretty innovative, for what it was.

    Zanshi, I'm assuming you are referring to the Super Famicon game "Tales of Phantasia"...

    It was the biggest cart out for the system (The rom's a whopping 4 or 5 megs...), but *sadly* never released in North America. It's a worthwhile RPG nonetheless with an interesting combat system (you fight battles in a sidescrolling semi-turn-based action sequence...), speech (a big thing for old consoles!), and a grandoise story.

    I still haven't gotten around to trying "Tales of Destiny", the sequel, which (oddly enough) was released over here...If it lives up to its original's standards it is probably still a great game (tho' maybe a little outdated for the PSX platform it was released on...)..

    In the sequel the characters are the same? Whats the story about?

    Whoops! Got a misunderstanding here, m'thinks... There isn't a "sequel" but a "prequel"...if you wanna play it tho' you've either got to track down a japanese Super Famicon console or a SNES emulator with a translated ROM (DeJap did a painstaking translation of it.)

    I've never played Tales of Destiny, but ToP is centered around the evil Dhaos, and the characters Cless, Chester, Mint, and some summoner guy who's name escapes me at the moment...Real standard plot - An evil guy is going to be resurrected to destroy the world...

    To link it back to M2A, there was an anime that was spawned off it as well!

    Tales of Phantasia II just got an American release Sept 13th this year...

    Wow!!! ^__________^ TOD 2... I can't believe it!!!!
    I hope there are more anime cut-scenes than the previous series... I really got ****ed from TOD ending.. They should have made it a long rewarding series of anime clips but all they gave is a picture of only the hero's.. I was really annoyed!!!
