Inu-Yasha Why can't we all like both Kikyou and Kagome?

I'm just wondering, but why can't we all like Kikyou or Kagome? Most Kikyou haters make up facts that aren't even true about Kikyou and it really gets me pissed off......Maybe because they all read the ANIME instead of both the ANIME AND MANGA! The manga was the actually the original and the true facts about all the characters. Besides, both characters, Kikyou and Kagome, have good qualities. Kikyou's pretty, strong, tough, and powerful. Kagome is sweet, caring, pretty, and cute. (She needs to get a longer skirt for her school uniform though) Can't we like them both? Did you know, that they both help each other too? Can't we like them both? I have my own idea for the ending. Inuyasha dies with Kikyou because's it's her only hope and Kagome go back to her own time and ends up with Inuyasha's reincarnation. That way, all of them can be happy!

 

Err... Well, first off, wrong forum. This ought to go in the Inuyasha forum, that's why it's there.

Second, I'll bet you that if you go and check said forum, you'll find that this topic has been discussed in at LEAST one existing thread - I'm pretty sure that, if there isn't already a nearly identical thread, you'll find this sentiment in one of the numerous "Kikyo or Kagome?"-themed topics.

Anyway... You can't honestly expect everyone to like both characters. I don't expect everyone to like the characters that I like - sure, I'll stick up for them when they're getting bashed, but I recognize that fans relate to different characters in different ways. Personally, I don't particularly like either of them (or the series, for that matter), and my first experience with Inuyasha was with the manga, years ago. I didn't find myself emotionally invested with either Kikyo or Kagome, and no amount of discussion about the good traits that they have is going to change that - they're just not terribly interesting to me. Granted, I think that far too many fangirls get into this "OMG I hate _____ because she's gonna steal Inuyasha away from _____!!1!" mindset with regards to Kikyo and Kagome, and that level of passionate and unreasonable dislike shows a total lack of understanding for what Rumiko Takahashi was trying to convey via the love triangle of Kikyo, Inuyasha, and Kagome. But eh... whatever.

 

I agree with Dilandau, but I did happen to chose both as my answer. they both have their own characteristics that determine who they are. I like Kagomes good heart and cheerful attitude, but at the same time I like Kikyo's maturity and how serious she is. they are both pretty to me and I'm not gonna chose between the two because like I said they are their own person, even if Kagome is a recarnation of Kikyo. I'm glad both are on the show, if one wasnt then it would be pretty boring really

Really? All the Kikyou or Kagome forums always say, I hate Kikyou cause she's a *****. Or Kagome is a slut. Blah blah blah......I know people can't like them both, but most of them like Kikyou or Kagome, but they always deny it. It's the Kikyou or Kagome forums that catch my eye, but I read all nine pages and not one said I like Kikyou and Kagome both in solid words. Grrr....
