Inu-Yasha Why do you think Kikyou is in hell?

I have been wondering if Kikyou was a good person in her life why is she going to hell?
Was there a show I missed that said why?

If not I think she is going to hell because her soul already went to heaven and her body went to hell or the figure that the witch made is not a living thing and is going to hell?
I really havent a clue do you?

 

... no not really. but maybe she's in "hell" because well, her hatred for inuyasha kinda did something to her or something.

I really dont think her hate for a half demon would send her to hell.I still am trying to think why is she going to hell but maybe she is not going to hell she was just trying to take inuyasha there?I really have no clue?!?

Maybe when Kikyou first died she went to heaven....k? Then she was revived from an evil witch woman who only revived her from hate and evil to do her not-so-good deeds that Kikyou became a little evil herself. You'll have to admit, when she came back to life she had hate for someone who she thought killed her and so she wanted him dead, and i don't think heaven would support her in doing that and she seemed pretty much intent on her mission to make IY dead even if it involved her going to hell. Anyway, this is from like episode forty-whatever, right? That was then, but i think now in the series where i'm at (162) Kikyou is more of the nice type and i doubt she's all intent on going to hell now. She helps children and tries her best to defeat Naraku while saving lives. She doesn't show the same hate as she did for IY then.

 

oh!!! oh!!! i think they explained why in the series, its because she died with a heart full of vengence, and hatred, she wanted to use the shikon no tama for herself, so that was selfishness, her heart was angry and unpure when she died, so that sent her to hell.

 

ohhhh...... I was thinking along the lines of the fact she was to be a pure soul, gaurding the Shikon Jewel, she wasn't to hate. But, the fact that the jewel was destoyed so......... Yeah, that makes whole lotta' sense!^^

 

NO NO NO!!!!! it was the very fact kikyo did not use the jewel to live that she destroyed naraku/onigumos plans and should be admired. naraku wanted the the jewel to soak in blood of malaice to become more evil and the onigumo side of him wanted to have kikyo, but she took the jewel with her to the after life insted of keeping herself alive. As for the hell thing, somethimes its a matter of religon, wile studying japan i found the term "hell" thrown arond lossly as more of a "after life" in general, altough when pushed to answer i say that kikyo died betrayed and hateful but still loved inuyasha, my best guess is she died with a torn soal, and therefore was not compleate.

 

If a single selfish deed among near thousands of selfless ones is enough to send a person to hell, well, guess the majority of this planet better start packin' our bags.

Anyhow, I myself haven't a clue on the matter, but I speculate that maybe, at least in this particular setting, heaven doesn't exist. When you die your body is sent to hell, and your soul either finds permanent peace or is reincarnated. Actually, there isn't any definitive proof that Kikyo was, in fact, sent to hell (at least not that I can recall...). You'll remember the scene of Kikyo burning, but it was Kaede and the villagers who burned her, Satan (or soemthing to that degree) had no involvement. Then, later, you hear her say that she wants to stop time for Inuyasha, force him to spend eternity with her, and while she hints that this will probably take place in hell, she doesn't come right out and say that she's experienced it for herself.

 

Well I'm not sure myself However, i do remember that sometime on the show or possibly somewhere they talked about how kikyou died and went and.... whatever.....Anyways i think another question is if she is going to end up in hell, do you think that she deserves that? I mean i know we only see Kikyou through the present (while kagome is there) but we don' t really see how she was in the past. She must have been a somewhat caring/loving person if Inuyasha loved her then and still now. She did want to use the jewel for herself and Inu-yasha, but she just didn't get the chance. She already suffered from just being able to live again. If she really was meant to go to hell then wouldn't she already have decided? Ok never mind. But I don't think she deserved to be alone in such a place.

I too belive that Kikyou is in hell for those reasons. She died despising Inuyasha, and to prove this point she still showed all possible signs of hatred after she was ressurected. This has got me stuck wether inuyasha should stick with Kagome or Kikyou. But thats out of subject.

What I mean by what I said *is confused* is that when she died, her heart felt betrayed and angry so how her mood was when she died reflected on her state in the afterlife *I think*

 

Kikyo was an okay person before she died, I guess. But her soul never truly settled down. It moved on because it had to...the body it used to occupy no longer existed. But her soul's last memory was of the supposed betrayal by Inu Yasha and all the anger and hate she was feeling before she died.

When Kikyo was brought back from the dead...they took her soul and put it back in her old body. And the last moments of its life was all it could remember. So Kikyo is now all about hatred and revenge and yada yada yada.

But Kikyo DID almost do something really bad before she died. She was all sick and tired of always protecting the jewel and wanted a normal life as a human woman. She was gonna use the jewel to make Inu Yasha into a human. She wanted to free of her duty and Inu Yasha was her ticket out. Which kinda makes you wonder if she really ever loved him at all...or pretended to like him so she could use the jewel on him. I guess we'll never know what would've happened. But Inu Yasha could've gone all demon on her instead of human.

AND...I am pretty sure that the Taijiya didn't give Kikyo the jewel just so she could do whatever she pleased with it. She was supposed to keep it purified and protect it from demons.

 

That isn't exactly true, at least from my perspective. Kikyo desired Inuyasha's transformation because she was counting on her suspicion that ridding Inuyasha of his demon blood (which she supposed the jewel considered filthy, seeing as demons were Midoriko's enemy) would purify the jewel, freeing her of her duties as an esteemed priestess and freeing Inuyasha of the prejudices surrounding him, leading to settling down together and building the foundation for a solid life together.

'Course, Naraku kinda screwed all that....

 

her hatred for Inuyasha sent her to hell, you can't die hating someone. its just like unfinished bisness, you have to come back and finish it before you can move on to a better place.

 

Kikyo is mean

Easy. She hated InuYasha, so that when she died it made her bitter and cruel so that is why she went down into the fiery pits of lava below the Earth.*smiles* She should go back. I hate her.

 

How do you know that Inuyasha was her only ticket out? I doesn't make sense. If she didn't love Inuyasha, why did she die for him/following him? How would being sick of no who you are send you to hell?

 

Gee thanks, I havent been on this site in awile, so i could'nt directly thank you after you posted. It was really nice of you to say and i must admit im a little embarassed :sweat: :shy3: , as for Kikyo... I stay where i stand on this.

 

She hated InuYasha and that was bad enough for her to go to hell? Isn't InuYasha a demon ( well half ) I don't think hating a demon would send you to hell. I think that this hell is just a place where everyone goes,( for this show anyway, I hope,!) being gready won't send you to hell, well lets hope not , just because she didn't want to gaurd the jewal and have a life of here own would make her a bad enough person to be sent to hell.

Maybe hell is just the resting place for the people of this show, maybe hell in this show isn't the hell we think of?

 

Hatred will keep you going more than love will. kikiyo couldn't let go. if you can keep hatred in your heart ( fake or real) fir more than fifty years you deserve to be in hell.
